I am leasing my current M550xi, I will sell it privately and payout the lease. I expect to pick up $5-8k, possibly $10K. The car has very low mileage. This will be the second or third time I've done this. It's not a big windfall, but at least I keep some of the value in the car.

It generally makes sense to put nothing down on a lease. Just put that 7K in a savings account and pay yourself back the difference monthly to 'lower' your payment to what you want. Or, if you really want to get into it 7 full MSDs might make sense due to saving 0.00028 on MF...that will lower monthly by $46.

Ask for base MF of 0.00136 (can be marked up to 0.00176), more info on M3 leases here, https://forums.edmunds.com/discussio...-and-prices/p2

Latest calc: https://leasehackr.com/calculator?ma...w_demo_25=true
So I received a call from my CA today, giving me updates that the vehicle just went 112 yesterday and hopefully should be here sometime in March if there are no delays.

We never talked MF when ordering the vehicle (probably should have) I only made sure they were charging MSRP. He mentioned today he would start getting paperwork setup so I could see my payment... I asked well we have to negotiate the MF before we can do that...he said our dealer does a standard .0004 markup...meaning max MF of .00176

I really hope they don't try to stand strong on this and have wiggle room. My credit isn't the best but it's in the high 700s.

Are dealers able to charge more than .00176 ?

Getting close to these numbers...financing seems more appealing.

maybe check with BMWFS. they changed the rules for selling leased cars back in August. and the reason was that WE were 'making money' off it instead of them...

Yup. As of 10/1 no more third party buyouts. You can still buy it out and sell yourself. Downside is taxes on purchase price, a ton of paperwork, you need to lay out the $ and 2-3 months until you get clean title. I did it last summer on an Alfa lease. Made $7k but it was a lot of work.

I did the same thing on a lease for my wife's car. Yes, you pay taxes on buying the lease, but then when you trade it in, you only pay taxes on the difference to the new car. So it is a wash in that regard.

Trying to build a m3 manual and a lot of dealers are asking from 5-10k markups but after trying i find a dealer charging mrsp !so i decided to send them my build based on a 80Kmrsp!
And that’s what I’ve got form them !
Money factors seems to be base as well !
You can see i did a lease and finance scenario but i think I’m gonna go for lease and then finance after the lease is over cause I’m planning to keep this one !
This is for may build car should be here around July he said!

If you lease it, then buy it (especially with these rates) you'll pay more than if you just finance it. Either 72 months traditional finance, or BMW Select.

That’s true especially if they are starting raising rates soon! But I don’t think they are gonna be that aggressive .

Ah but you haven't met my Wife. She's a magnet for other people's bumpers. 2 in last year, one at a light and another while parked at a friends house. Neither hit my insurance but both are on Car Fax.

So her lease is going back most likely.

Any .9% BMW Select on G83 in the DC Metro Area

I'm looking to place an order if I can lock .9% on Select. I know BMW only does it at certain times of the year.

0.9% is gone, the base rate through BMWFS is 2.49% now. Not likely to go back down anytime soon, could even increase again.

Has anybody successfully gotten any sort of dealer discount recently?

I inquired at 3 different dealers in the Chicagoland area, and here's what I was told for lead time and pricing for an individual G80 order:

Dealer 1: 14-16 months lead time; MSRP
Dealer 2: 9-11 months lead time, MSRP
Dealer 3: 9+ months lead time, MSRP

On the plus side, there's no markup. I was considering going back to dealer 1 and saying I'll accept the 14-16 month lead time if they can give me any sort of discount. Otherwise there's absolutely 0 incentive for me to order through them. I suppose they simply don't care since the orders are rolling in anyway and they'll just sell to someone else.

I was tracking this market for more than a year when discounts were a possibility. As of now, MSRP deal is a decent deal and i placed my order last month.

Also consider the fact that there might be a considerable MSRP increase for MY23 as BMW has not made significant updates like other OEMs.

I'm in Canada, I ordered late Nov/21, build is mid March, not really sure when I will take delivery (hopefully the build date holds&#129310

I did not get a discount, however I was able to fight off the 2022 BMW price increase $2,500 CAD.

It appears Laserlights will not be included in my build, I am going to go for a $1,500 credit. (Based on the stand alone option price on other models)

Depending where you are, you can get a slightly lower monthly if you finance 72 mo @ 3.49 72 months with 10 down

That's not a good lease, especially when you're putting that much down (which is never a good idea on a lease). Leasing is just a terrible move these days.

I'm confused with that much money down why your payment is so high if there's no markup and base money factor.
