There is no “updated code”.

The expert coding doesn’t work with iDrive 8. It’s a thing with many functions, unfortunately. Some of them work when setup in tandem with other settings. I couldn’t find one to make it work.

Here are the native options from BimmerCode.

I was able to enable the automatic options (unlock when at the end of the trip or when the car is put in park.
It doesn’t work with our car (I tried putting the parking brake on to see if that would work), but I haven’t tested the “end of trip” option. I’m not sure if that’s tied to a navigation trip, but I don’t think that’s very useful or accurate.

Just push the unlock button on the door before leaving the car
