Well they are actually lighter than the standard wheels. If that really matters is up to the buyer. The looks is all subjective of course.

And you should! I just know myself, and I know how easy it is for me to fall down that rabbit hole of obsessing about the condition of my car to the point that I forget to just enjoy the thing. I don't have that problem with my G82 for whatever reason. I don't even have it PPF'd. But I feel that if I were to land a limited production M3CS I'd probably end up not driving it as much as I drive my current car, which is missing the point. Put simply, I know myself.

Glad they are making the M3CS and I hope I get to see one in person.

Disagree based on the F80 CS, which drove NIGHT AND DAY better than a competition F80.

I am with this guy.

Further, I feel BMW decides to make something based on what extra parts they have left over.

I was looking at the 22' M5 CS. Amazing car. The inside is is the older style still.

So basically you pay the extra for brand exclusivity. BMW makes a car with less shit in it and charges you more. In the same motion, they use some of the extra parts laying around. Smart on their part. I hope it skyrockets in value. ZERO possibility I am paying 118k + dealer price gouge for something I can buy, with a few mods, to look the same. Cmon man.

I will however let them gouge me for the G99 I will order. Those will be hard to come by will all the people ordering them. Right guys???? RIGHT??????

I think this says more about how the F80 was lacking. I have not driven a CS but I read that most say the CS is how the comp F80 should have felt.

The G80 is significantly better than the F80 so perhaps it will not be as stark a difference. But it's too soon to tell, need to see the reviews and get it in the hands of owners before we will know.

For me it isn't even specific to the M3CS, but it is about almost all limited production vehicles. When a manufacturer builds something truly special and then numbers them or sells a very low supply, it can't help but feel like it might have a collector's quality to it. And when that happens, even against my own best intentions, I am prone to start getting a little paranoid about it getting damaged or having too high mileage. It's not even a conscious thought, because I know full well that investing in cars is not where I put my money, but it's almost that subconscious feeling like I have to keep it pristine. I'd prefer to avoid that, because I've done it before and though it might help retain the value of the car when you go to sell it later, it definitely takes away from the day-to-day enjoyment.

Your mileage may vary.

This brand is way too watered down and gimmicky now. I would never drive this. Even if they gave it to me

I disagree only because I'm not comparing it to the base F80, which was a horrible car to drive, but the F80 Comp. I probably will buy a G80 CS. I'll let you know.

I had a F82 and then F80 comp. The F80 was better but still missing something which I assume the CS fixed. Good luck ! Look forward to seeing real reviews of the G80 CS.

Every CS has reported been significantly better than its Comp equivalent. I can say that for sure with the F87 as I have a CS and have driven the Comp. All reports seem to be the same with the M5 CS. Both EVO cars of the year.

Maybe the G80 Comp is a better starting point, but I am pretty confident that there will be noticeable improvements beyond just 40 extra HP.

I’d say if you are looking to improve upon the G80 Comp and keep the warranty with exclusivity and resale as a bonus, the G80 CS seems like a no brainer.

For me, I need a 6MT in a car this special. The will be plenty of faster cars with better tech in the next 10-15 years, very few of them will have a manual transmission.

I’ve been waiting for this car for at least a year now and I’m #1 at my dealer. We all know it’ll be fast… but will it be engaging is my big question?

Currently daily an CTR (and plan to daily the CS)- and I shit you not- the car is more 2x engaging than the OG M2 I had before. I don’t care what I drive, just as long as it’s fun and engaging. I’ve driven 997 GT3 and F430 Scud, and the CTR steering, manual tranny, and “feel” is the best out there south of a “real” sports car. Honestly would be unhappy dumping this car for another “numb” BMW (driven E36 street and track, E46 street, and OGM2/M2Comp street). Go ahead and scoff if you’ve driven one, but if you haven’t… do yourself a favor and try it out without bias.

The 8 speeds shifts as fast as a DCT can do full lock up for engine braking.

I had a 335i with the 6 speed auto. The only driving characteristic it was missing was a clutch pedal.

I have a friend that recently bought a M5 Competition. He cried about it not being a MT for about a day. Once he found out the 8 speed auto still has engine braking and does full lockup and isn't the slush box of the 1990s he hasn't complained since.

ZERO CHANCE any new BMW is fun or engaging. DNA is gone. Been gone.

You know how BMW will never end up like Cadillac? Because they are constantly replacing the people who like yesterday's cars with new people who like today's cars.

Before about 2018/2019 I wouldn't have touched BMW with a 10 ft pole and now I have bought 6 new BMWs in the last 2 years.

With that said, stuff like the new EVs are pretty ugly so I may have a short run at this brand, lol.

It is indeed standard. A lot of the press material is rehashing technology and innovations already in the S58 motor... not sure why they did that.
