I've been wanting a new M4 manual coupe since selling my F82 last year. Wandered into the toy store yesterday morning to have a look around. Of course nothing on the lot BUT it turned out the store had a status 111 2025 M4 LCI coupe slated for week 17 ready to configure so I did the expected air fist pump and ordered that sucker!

Now the longish wait begins! Any other week 17'ers? Here's my build:

Thanks - yeah TBH I'm not 100% sold on the all silver rims. But I like them enough to take the chance. If they're just too much to look at in person, I'll order something different and get them installed. I've always had darker rims though. Black Forgestar F14's on my F82 and the 911 has graphite colored barrels with shiny faced spokes.

*update* I changed the order today to the 825M bi-color wheels. Had to.

I totally tweaked out reading your extended shadowline option because I didn’t recall that option available for mine but after checking that was automatically included for me 😅

I placed order on 2/7 and I think mine starts production 3/24

Thanks! Congrats as well! Did you spec a competition model? I would have but wanted the manual. It's a shame they didn't offer a 6MT in comp for this model. Grrr.

Not gonna lie, I am a bit nervous about those headlights. Hopefully they don't suck. We have the laser headlights on our X5 and they're amazing.

Nice build! I'm biased, but manual is the way to go. Is this going to be replacing your 911 or added to the stable?

Thanks! I really haven't decided yet. The 911 is truly something special but it's not my dream build. I'm more of a GT car person and the C2S is all touring. That and garage space being what it is, I may just sell it. Seems I have plenty time to contemplate it lol. Time stops when you place an order for a new car.

The good news is that whenever you do decide to sell, you'll get great retained/residual value. No so with the M3/M4, which definitely points to getting what you want and then holding on to it for awhile. 911s are great vehicles, and money no object I'd love to have a GT3 as garage candy and for weekend warrior duties... but if I'm buying a car that I actually plan on using for "car things" outside of just pleasure driving only, the M4 fits the bill perfectly. You won't be disappointed!

Before the 911 I had a manual F82 M4 for nearly 5 years. It was a perfect car really, and I would have kept that but I wanted to try a 911 and couldn't have both. And you're right about it retaining it's "value". It appears I haven't truly lost anything at this point if I sell. Time will tell!

I decided not to add the alcantara steering wheel to my build because I chose a convertible and don’t want to expose it to the elements.

Went to status 112 today so I called the BMW Genius hotline for the first time to see what's what. Turns out I also moved up in production to Week 16! Not a lot but I'm good with that

Moving right along. The main difference is, now, you're locked in and cant make anymore changes. Get used to loving what you ordered.

You can, however, add port installed options, all the way until the vehicle arrives at the port. I would advise against ordering any of the wheelsets, as you forfeit your factory installed wheels and tires for the new set. Wheels are something you can always purchase at the parts counter, and install, later.

Thanks for posting this. I was wondering what the MPHAS was costing this year. Looks like it went up $90 or so from last year. That's a definite add-on for me.

I spoke with my sales person about this who happened to have just come out of a meeting on the port closure. He mentioned that they will likely reroute the ships to Newark or possibly Charleston. Also it is a major priority to reopen the shipping lane in general so that could get done soon (ish) as well. Although I doubt that's going to be done in time.
Regardless, rerouting might add a couple of days but not to worry.

The next possible vessel for me a couple of days ago when I checked was supposed to be on the Arc Indepence leaving 3/31 from Bermerhaven and getting to Baltimore April 14

Now that same vessel (arc independence) is leaving on 3/30 from Bremerhaven and getting to Charleston 4/13

Around how long after boarding a vessel does the tracker update to in transit ?

If I don’t make this vessel then I have no idea when or what port I’d eventually go to
