Home. Did not expect to take delivery today, but resistance was futile. No traffic on the drive back to Ojai, so I got to open it up a (very) little bit. This car is insanely fun to drive. The car is gorgeous, including and especially the grille. Every other car on the lot looks dated next to the M3. Will post more pics when daylight is available again.

Much thanks to Ole at Steve T. in Camarillo. It was great fun having someone at the dealer as excited about this build as I was.

This was a custom order. Ordered it back in December 2020. It took a while to hit 112 status, but that was beneficial as I changed my mind on a few build issues during the wait. Build:

Fire Orange (obviously), Carbon Package, Execute Package, Carbon Seats, Full Leather - Black; Black Calipers. F.O. and Black is great combination for this car. I think its going to look even better once windows are coated.

I didn't think you were able to change anything once the order was approved through BMW Individual? Thought it was essentially locked in once the individual color got final approval even if it hadn't hit 150 status yet...

I wasn't sure if the car was yours.

So far there's Foun84 in Belgium, you, luckym3girlnj and myself with fire orange G8x's.

Mine is in 154 status with an expected completion date of tomorrow.

I did 6MT, CF exterior, carbon buckets on full silverstone leather, bicolor 826M wheels.

Please post more pics when you can and congrats!

About two weeks after the order was accepted and a production number issued, I changed the build to include full leather and the carbon trim. BMW initially balked at the changes, but Ole at Steve T. was able to push the changes through.

The waiting time after its discharged from the factory until the car arrives at the port of exit felt like an eternity. Regarding wheels, I wish BMW offered as part of the build options the 963M with the insets painted to match car color. I saw a pic somewhere of a frozen grey G80 with the rims painted in SPY. Those rims with the insets painted F.O. would be great on this car.

My biggest concern about the build was the carbon buckets. I will post some further thoughts on this after I have driven the car more than 30 miles. For now, I will simply note that they are both fantastic, and a likely a PITFA on a daily basis. The seats are very comfortable, I do not think they should cause the sort of person that is attracted to the M3 any concern on that front.* However, I can see the dismount being an act of public humiliation. Ingress and egress is not an act of grace, so much as one of contortion. That said, I would not order this car without the carbon buckets.

*This depends on an individual's size. I saw a post a few months ago of an exceedingly tall and large (but not rotund) person trying fit in the buckets. A person of that stature likely would find the buckets intolerable.

Only you can/should decide that. Who cares what anyone else thinks!

I think if you went full leather it might be a tad too much and instead likely easier to pull off if only doing extended.
