I can't for the life of me get a live agent on the genius hotline.

So i emailed them, like i did last time. But i didn't get a response yet. Are they even there on the weekend?

Kinda curious now, because while i was excited to move to status 150, i'm starting to think i won't know, or my status (at least on the site) will remain in, "production begins", a couple of more weeks.

This waiting game is the worst lol. And i'm actually a very patient guy

I believe Genius agents work a ‘short’ Saturday (like 1000-1400 EST). I gave them and me a few days off; I’ll try again Monday.

If the agent surmised last time that my car was in the paint shop, I figured it would sit on a rack somewhere for a few days while the paint cures and it waits its turn to go on the assembly line. Once a vehicle reaches final assembly, it doesn’t take long at all.

As for finessing Genius’ new VRU, I’ve had good results by not rushing (waiting for the prompt I want, before responding).

I don’t blame you for losing patience for lack of information. That’s what this is all about. Even if you knew for 100% fact you weren’t gonna get the car until January I’m sure you would be OK with that knowing it was a fact and not speculation. Infrequent speculation for information sucks.

That's what i mean. The car could sit after a certain status because there's a holdup for whatever reason. Not sure if that's possible but with how things are going, not only with these M builds, but new cars in general, who knows how long this will last.

lol exactly. Like if someone told me hey you're going to get the car by october 20, no later and could be even sooner, i would be like ok great.

But when i went to the dealer to place the deposit, my salesman told me, you'd get the car in about a month, or by october. Uhhh ok..

Then when i got my production number and emailed genius with it, they told me i'm a week 40 build. Which means, i'll get the car mid-end of november barring no hold ups or shortages or anything.

When i found out i went into status 150 about 2 weeks earlier than expected, now i'm excited but at the same time not because it goes to show how unpredictable all of this is.

I just want this damn car already. I can't wait anymore.

My car is slated to be complete on 09/28 and barring no delay I should have my car in November also. Keep your head up and hopefully we will be talking shot to each other in December about our cars.

Looks like I got bumped to week 41, but that's because of a last minute change to my build. I noticed I didn't have extended shadowline on my build, so rushed to get that added. I'm just happy I caught the mistake, and will gladly take a week delay for that

Isn't shadowline standard? It's the shadowline delete you have to add if you don't want it.

Believe "extended" shadowline is an option (adds some more blacked out pieces on top of the standard black trim - eg blacked out side mirrors, black trunk lip, maybe some other stuff too)

It's standard on the Comps. On the base models you have to opt for shadowline extended.

I thought getting a VIN 2 weeks earlier than expected would give me the car by halloween. I'm pretty sure that's almost impossible.

I think you should just go by your original thought process and that is hope for the best. The truth is we have absolutely no idea as of today what the parts situation is with BMW. I haven’t heard anybody claim to know. How much of a supply do they have? Do they have enough parts now to fill all the orders they’ve already received? If not how far out are they? We have no idea and we are all just hoping at this point.

It seems like almost everyone has had delays and stop sales post production. I’m getting ready for a long wait… My car is scheduled to be completed 10/7. I’m in the Midwest, if I had to guess at this point I’d say mid to late November but could easily be into next year.

I'm loosing my hopes as I've just been aware of the fact that there were 3 M3xdrive comp. scheduled for Italy by the end of sept., and they all have been shifted to un undecided prod. week.

So, I can assume that mine will be shifted shortly too. AGAIN.
