Did you get rid of the secondary cats as well? Or just replace the primary OE cats with high flow and keep the secondaries?

the m5 doesn't smell that much there is a hint of it in the air but it's perfectly acceptable. on the m3 i'd definitely advise on keeping the stock cats in place |

I only smell it when the car has been sitting in one spot over 2 mins. Even then it is light. I still have the secondary cats on tho.

So in regards to the extra bung that my shop installed. I have been told by other users that they did not install that and have had no issues. My shop did not feel comfortable with the O2 sensors touching the mini cat inside the spacer so they installed the extra bung. I think you will be fine either way.

Thanks for the video, and being offering your car as the Guinea pig for this system. Sounds great, lots of growl without the rasp--just what I'm looking for. Few quick questions:
1. In what mode were you running while on the test drive (sport plus with valves open the whole time)? 2. Does the installation of these downpipes affect the operation of any of the OEM engine or valve settings? In other words, can it still run in efficient mode with the valves closed so the kid can sleep in the back? 3. At 9:10 in the video, you hear the first gurgling crescendo of the backfire. Does this happen all the time when you back off the throttle at high RPMs?

1) Test drive was in sport plus valves open the entire time. 2) No, you can still close the valves and the car is pretty quiet in comfort mode. You only can hear more noise under full throttle or high RPMs. 3) It does not do it all of the time just when you back off throttle at high RPMs. The burbles are louder tho. You can actually hear them now.

Normally when you are doing the DP a tune is needed. That brings the voided warranty. I personally would not do that mod till you have proper tuning. To each their own! I also would not run catted DP. Leave the cats somewhere else.

If one is at all worried about warranty, take the safe route and don't mod until warranty is expired.
