Put in my order for M3 in October of 2022, but didn't get the allocation till January 2022. For the build date of Week 13, then it got moved to week 17, then my order moved from "scheduled date" to "order received" status for 2 months. Finally, now I have a build date of week 26. Who knows at this point if it will even happen. BMW Genius is useless in this matter as they never have any information.

My thoughts and concerns at this point are if the 2023 model year will have any new changes? if so, is there any way to move my build date to July? Hate to miss the cusp by 1 week and end up with older model year car.

Not doing PPF at all. Normally I detail my cars with regular products an waxes and have worked well for me. I haven't use ceramics at this point in other cars. Always my cars are inside the garage. I like to see how the color and shine pops up with the wax and detailers, with PPF you loose that chance since your paint is covered with the plastic.

Smile Just ordered a 2022 530i. Week 25 allocation

Replacing a 103K 2014 528i. Feels like on verge of money pit status...

Should I have waited for 2023's ?

Only change is large curved screen and iDrive 8, when it comes to any lights change you probably can swap them. I personally tried the iDrive 8 in the i4 and as much as it looks smooth I preferred the iDrive 7 (maybe i'm just used to it) but some people, especially who had an M before or any sports car that had the true two separate screens even analog odometers, prefer that over 1 large screen

There is hope! Once at Week 13, then 20, then 26.
Today, I received a VIN and car is "Entering Production "!

Obviously, there are many hurdles to clear, this is a big step.
It would seem they are shuffling around with the schedule quite a bit based on what they can put together.

Originally was a Week 15 build. Stayed in 112, got delayed to a Week 21 build. Back to 105 a few weeks ago, and as of today went back to 112 and scheduled for week 26. Not sure how this will hold, as anymore delays will mean I'm a MY23. I like the new screen but at the same time, I want a car.. 😂

Same thing happened to me, I was Week 14, went to 112, then week 19, then 21 then back to 105 status as soon as May hit and have been since. Maybe I'll get a surprise this week, or maybe I'll have to talk myself into ID8 being OK.

I think you will get a surprise. I think they sent a lot of people back to 105 in case they couldn't build them for this year. They probably try to squeeze in as many MY22s as possible.

Whats your build? I have a G80 6MT, it seems the 6MT's have been getting the shaft the most in this way.

Might I add that I have an individual G82 6MT (with carbon everything except brakes) that just went into production 5/30 so keep all hope alive especially you 6MT preservationists out there

While they may get 3-4K more for MY23, they get 0 if they don’t produce a car when they otherwise could in MY22. Pushing it out for 3-4K and creating a production void where nothing is produced when it could be to get more revenue doesn’t really make good business sense.

That said they may just not have the capacity to do more of us at 105

I agree with you! I was just talking about that in another thread that there has to be some finance and supply reasons behind it. Does not make anyvsense sense that my week 9 build gets pushed to 21 instead of going to 10 and 10 goes to 11 and so on.

My original week 9 build got bumped by 2-3 weeks at a time going back to 111 and 112 each time, but it hasn't helped me. I've been back to 105 and told by my CA it will be MY23 since April.

Not an individual color, but I did opt for bucket seats after receiving a production number. The buckets postponed me to week 26. I don't recall what week I was before the change but I believe it was scheduled for early May.
