If the valves are open during cold start maybe a manual valve controller would help.

This is what I'm thinking as well.

When I had MAD catless downpipes -> AA single mid -> Remus Race, the cold starts were obscene and the drone was unbearable. But I swapped to MAD catless downpipes -> VT midpipes -> stock axle back, and installed the dAhler valve controller during the VT midpipe install, and the cold starts haven't been bad.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the valves are a bit open during cold start.
