Man, he paid way too much for that piece of shit, $32,000 pounds! I doubt that if can be restored properly. But even if he does restore it, you could buy a clean non-destroyed factory M3 for the same amount he will have into the pice of shit restore.
I sure as hell would never, ever buy it.

Probably is worth it if it had carbon buckets, that alone would cover half the price of the car.

I used to enjoy Tavarish's videos...he did stuff like this a lot. I could handle Tavarish....but Matt's voice annoys me til no end. Making these cars look great again is the easy part. What doesn't come across in these types of projects, and which is the MOST important, is how these cars drive and feel when rebuilt. |

Lots of hate for Mat in here it seems like. I wonder if these commenters have watched 10+ of his videos, understand his story, how he got going at the start, and progressed to where he is now.
If so, and you still have these opinions, ok, your opinion not mine. If you haven’t though, I recommend it. And make sure you watch the 15 minute video where he recaps his start to where he is now. The guy is quite humble and has earned everything he’s got. |

Assuming the inner framing is still straight and true, yes. The inner metal framing and supports are parts on any car one could buy new. The outer quarter panel is also a part one could buy new. The question is cutting out the old and welding and bonding the replacements. The rear quarters require welding at rear C pillar. The rest is spot welds and bonding with the proper stuff.

You guys are talking this guy up so much but why was he surprised that there was way more damage (and damage to the unibody) under that quarter. That should be obvious to even the most casual car enthusiast. That car will never be properly fixed back to factory spec.

Whether you agree or not with the build, think he’s good or bad, I bet 99% of you watch the progress regardless.
Win either way for Matt. I dont think he’s bothered if someone dislikes his earing or voice TBH, and fair play to him for all the effort and hard work.

I really like Matt, a very humble guy and I really love his ‘have a go’ attitude.
I think this is a brave buy, but he’ll churn a load of videos out of it and if it wasn’t repairable then he could break it and get a large part if not all the money back.

He gets a lot of his cars from copart
I really enjoy his channel as it shows how dealers imo rip u off for parts when a lot are generic and go into multiple vehicles, his dad is the main mechanic n really good fella |

lol just read this whole thread, if only some people commenting here also realized he’s going to give this car away to a random viewer (like he does for all his non supercar builds) i think it would literally send them over the edge haha.
he buys the cars for the story (interesting crashes and such) not for the value, how much he paid for it is completely pointless as a factor. guy pulls at least $100k every 1-2 episodes, overpaying for a car isn’t even a thing for a guy like Mat. The worse the damage, the better for his channel and his videos. He can’t repair easy damage as it won’t be interesting and won’t seem challenging, again pointless to argue or call him “stupid” as if he didn’t specifically seek it out. does it really matter if the car is back to OEM spec or not? not to me, i don’t need the illusion of knowing the car is perfect again. I just enjoy the viewing experience of car repair videos, and maybe learn something new.

I only watched a handful of his videos and enjoyed them. His channel is not about spending weeks looking for a perfect oportunity car to buy with superficial damage, clean title etc that can be flipped for massive profit and all of the followers will go "I wanna do that too" and make money on the car. If anything, watching these videos gives you an idea what to look for and how much stuff really costs in terms of effort and not just parts. Yes, there are many Youtubers where it's the Youtube that makes them money, not the actual work behind the content. When you are a good storyteller and presenter, you can actually make more money telling stories about fixing cars than actually fixing them. Surprise!!! People tend to forget that Youtube is in entertainment not car repair industry category. |

his videos are always on youtube trending, and youtube ups the CPM (rate paid per view) for those videos. i did some youtube analytical work before, and I calculate he easily makes on a bad day $40k per video. I know it may seem far fetched, but sponsors alone pay a guy like Mat 10k+ for featured ads on videos. don’t forget this is a guy that gets 1-2mil views+ on his videos, he’s in the upper tier of youtube creators. given it’s also car related, youtube pays them more since car content sells products for advertisers, unlike just talking/reacting videos where viewers aren’t looking to buy anything.
