I know it’s not a popular opinion, but pictures can get boring sometimes. They’re basically all the same colors and interiors. Some of us are curious how they drive. How is the engine? The sounds? The revVing? Does it feel like it? Awesome car to drive?

From what I have seen in person they aren't the best sounding stock

They are not the best sounding stock. I put a ARM H-pipe mid section along with a Dahler control value module. With valves 100% open it sounds amazing. I went with the H-pipe as I wanted a deeper sound rather than a rasper sound a X-pipe provides.

I’m new to bmws and modding. Can you share with me how. Ugh it costs for this mod please.

Oh is it something you have to pay a shop for or can an average person with mechanical ability do?

If you want to keep the stock exhaust but want to have more control over how loud the exhaust is you should consider a valve control. These are easily installed in the drive way or garage on jack stands or ramps with a few simple tools. The install usually takes under an hour to complete. I have the Dahler controller on my M3 and very happy with it. The link below is for post about the different valve controllers on the market. If you are not familiar with how valve controllers work the link can help. The best explanation in my option is the one from Mike at Extreme Power House about the benefits of a valve controller. I also put a link to Kies Motorsports Youtube video about the Dahler controller and the install.

You can do the install of a mid-pipe in the driveway or garage with the use of jack stands and or ramps. If you have access to a lift it would be much easier. For my install I had a performance shop do the work. I already had them doing the install on KW HAS kit along with doing a wheels and tire change. They charged my an additional 1.5 hours labor for the install. Which I found reasonable. Below is a link to a YouTube video about a DIY install for the ARM H mid-pipe. There is a sound track during the last part of the video that is a good at representing the sound of the exhaust. I also have the Dahler valve controller that I installed myself before have the H mid-pipe installed. I did a post earlier about valve controllers that you may want to review.

The Dahler controller is plug and play install. You remove the OEM plug to the valve and install the Dahler plugs between the OEM valve and the controller. Not external power source required. Not sure how any of the other valve controllers work. I went the the Dahler for the quality and easy of the install. I know there are cheaper controllers on the market. I did not want to go cheap and regret trying to save a few $ and not be happy. Very thing I read from people with a Dahler they were very happy with their choice.

Finally picked up my car from the performance center. Awesome experience and the car turned out amazing, pictures don't do the color justice. Off to the shop for Ceramic/PPF/Tint for the next couple days then an 8 hour drive back to Florida.
