Wow! The new M3 and M4 looks are really good and aggressive, and so much more modern than the outgoing F8x!
The F8x suddenly looks tame and dated... I never thought that would happen, as I love how the F80 M3 looks. This is a bold step, but I must say I just love how aggressive and new the front end looks. Especially in the videos out there. Btw I currently drive a 6-series Gran Coupe which is IMO one of BMW's best modern designs. But this new design really impressed me. Much more so than what I thought it would based on the long build up to this reveal. |

I definitely dont hate it but agree with many that the exterior features are too extreme. It looks a bit juvenile and has a jdm import vibe. I may have outgrown the M3 appearance at this point in my life. Although, when I look at the online configurator with exterior color in black it does look a lot better as it hides many of the ricer elements.
Exterior looks aside, the interior looks to be top notch and a big step up from the F80. The growing list of options for things like cf buckets and small things like changing the brake caliper color is also very welcome and is a page out of the Porsche playbook. However, with so many variations being offered it will certainly make it more difficult to find one sitting on a dealer lot that meets your individual spec. |

I liked/supported the spy photos, I disliked the launch photos yesterday and I'm back to liking the front-end, love the side profile and liking the rear end.
Will I buy one? No, with the weight going up, I'd just buy a X3M and have more useful space. I feel like BMW gave up trying to reduce weight on this pig, as least try with a CF engine brace...it looks so good. |

That's my biggest disappointment in seeing this. They didn't even try to keep weight in check.

I like both, the M4 looks perfect for a coupe and M3 perfect for a sedan. Where both models obviously fall apart is the front and the soft character lines on the side.

Of course - "These seats also allow for multipoint seatbelts as a factory option, although that will not be offered in the US."

Funny because in terms of diffusers, side skirts, carbon fiber bits, etc., bmw basically killed the aftermarket. The only value they could bring is fixes to a grille that will be prohibitively expensive to most.

Also, the weird plastic fender extensions on the M3 that look like they were borrowed from the X5. WTF? |

It's grown exactly one foot in 16 years since the E46...it could be a lot worse is how I look at it.
