Another xDrive allocation received!
I wouldn't normally make a dedicated thread for this, but since everyone has been curious when these xDrive allocations were coming in I thought you all might like to know.
hockeygoalie35 had the #1 spot at the dealer, I had the #2 spot. He got his yesterday, and I just got a text from my SA this morning with confirmation that mine is in. Order is now locked in: M3c xDrive - San Marino Blue - Silverstone/Black Extended Leather - Carbon Fiber Trim - Carbon Buckets - 826M bi-color wheels - Parking Assist Package - Executive Package - Icon LED Headlights with Laserlight - Shadowline Lights - Black Calipers One nice surprise: I was expecting SMB to be $5000, but it's $4500. Now the real wait begins.... |

I'm new to this as well, it's my first time ordering an individual color. From what I hear it takes 1-2 weeks for BMW to "approve" the individual order. And then in terms of the actual production I've read anywhere from 2-4 to possibly 5-6 weeks more compared to a standard order. I know some folks have received their individual M3/M4's already so maybe they can chime in about the timeframes.

Err... scratch that, my SA said it was already approved? Status was changed to 102, does that mean approved? Now we just wait for production week he says.

I asked my SA if it can be denied or is it a done deal, and he said, “I think it’s a done deal”, so I’m just confused as you are. Also at 102.

"Please note: special orders usually require extra production time ranging between 2-12 weeks". I think it really depends on how "special" or custom the order is. |

Did you put your production number into the MyBMW site? You should be able to see if it shows a special order color for your build or not. If it shows up there, I would assume it has been approved at that point.

Oh good call, I hadn't done that. Yep it shows special color and says: "Your order has been received, and we're making space in the production schedule."

Fully editing my comment as I misread 102 as 112
My understanding is that status 111 (accepted) or 112 (production) is when you know the individual color is fully approved and they are moving ahead with the request. For these in 102, it is in the hands of BMW to approve for it to move forward. I was requesting Marina Bay Blue with San Marino Blue as my backup (just told the CA if he can submit both at the same time for approval to do it). I'm #1 at my dealership and waiting for confirmation when they get their allocation. I can only hope to get a similar text/call within the week and play the approval waiting game.

Regardless! You are still way ahead of everyone else waiting for the xDrive model. I'm still waiting to hear back from my CA and couldn't help but send a proactive text indicating the news that he should keep his eye open.

Sorry for the newb question, but are the allocations, generic, i.e. a dealer gets N xDrive allocations and they can spread it across M3/M4 in any way they choose?
