BMWUSA listed weight for M4 differs from press release

The press release says the 6MT is 3830 lbs and the 8AT is 3880 lbs. But the website says the 8AT is 3830 lbs.

Which is correct?

BMW USA are notorious for making mistakes in their literature. 3,830lb is the quoted weight for the 6MT G82 in the official press release.

The good news is that EU magazines have been weighing recent M5 and M8 below their official EU spec, so there's still hope for the G8X .

OK, how do we know the typo was with the website and not the press release. I would put more credence in the website than the press release which are generally notorious from misprints and quotes.

Ok, so where does the 3,880lb weight for the 8AT in the press release come from?

Wishful thinking going on here...

Ahh, good point..

However, I do believe the weights will be lower then what is published, and yes its wishful thinking.

Iím inclined to agree. On the website they refer to the auto as a separate model - M4 Competition. In the screenshot the OP posted it say M4 coupe. Likely a typo on the website. Copy paste error not updating automatic to manual is my guess.
