At the risk of derailing this thread, I need to say the following: RWD with proper winter tires combined with an LSD makes for a capable snow driven car, no matter how the HP and TQ outputs are. It's all about throttle modulation. My M2 with Blizzaks was nearly unstoppable.

Do you live in Canada though? It seems like people who claim this consider a few inches of snow a lot. Canada, Maine, upper Midwest etc is a different story.

its better to have plates on the sides anyways. Looks way better on a beemer or no front plates

ya X3MC seats are pretty much the same seats as the standard seats in the M3. The carbon buckets are tighter, esp the leg bolsters.

I don't know if I'm more impressed with SPY exterior, or orange interior with carbon buckets. Too bad you can't do both.

Nor'easters can as much rain as snow. Wet roads don't require AWD. One can benefit from AWD trying to get through snowy roads though. Yes, it's doable with rwd and good, new snow tires, but AWD still eliminates a lot of headaches, if one uses the right tires and drives thoughtfully.

i thought the orange interior is too orange like orange crush based on pics

but seeing in person i loved it, but yea SPY + YAS are designed for each other and each other only

Agreed. My F80 with Michelin Alpins gets to my condo in Maine no matter what the conditions. The condo is at the top of a 1/2 hill and involves several turns around parked cars lol.

ya if thats fine then urban driving for most of us on plowed roadsshouldn't be a huge issue

bigger issue is ground clearance on unplowed side roads. And if you need to get out of a parking spot after snow plower just boxed you in

But

I was also wondering about the rear caliper - this is the F8x version on my GTS, I'm no expert but assuming the new design is chosen for light weight as rear brakes provide much less of the braking force than the front.

Electric park brake is reason for crappy rear caliper.
The better manufacturers will use a separate park brake caliper & keep the 2/4 pot caliper also.
Looks like BMW took the cheap option, I'm sure it works ok as yes the fronts do the majority but it sure does look cheap & nasty.
