Cash is king. Lease or finance is 2nd option.

This information is shared in the sticky thread which is right on the top. There isnt many lease reports since 2021 due to terrible residuals and money factor.

Looking to buy MY24 M4CX. Per Edmunds, current Feb '23 lease rates are buy rate MF=.00185, residual=56% for MY 23 M4CX.

MY 24 production starts March 1. Are there any historical trends for MF and residual to change for the first month of MY production vs the last month of the previous MY production?

MF is the loan rate it can change at any time and does so monthly. I would lock with BMW FS the .00185 then if the rates get better you will get the lowest during your cycle as long as you lock it.
However the residual likely will stay the course but that isn't lockable and applies only to the month of delivery.

So realistically you need to see what it is come Summer when your car is delivered.

Summer of 2020 I leased a $160k MSRP M8 Competition coupe with no money down for $1300/month. Those days are gone, hopefully they return, but I doubt it.

The lease is all about 3 things (variables): sale price, residual and MF.
My 2019 F80 lease payment was exactly $1,000 taxes included, no money down ($2k deposit rolled in), 36/10
If I were to get my G80 today, similar MSRP ($84k vs $82k), my payment would be $1,265. Residual went from 64% to 61%, all at MSRP and MF went to 0.00185

My local dealership told me the lease rate on a 23 G80cx is at .00225

I think that’s about a 5.4 interest rate 🤔

I spoke with my CA today (New Jersey) and I was given the same MF RATE at .00225

With 3,000 down + all taxes and fees down.. my 80K M3 6MT would be at $1000/mo over 36/10K

Seems like there's some fluff in there but I am financing anyway.. I just wanted the comparison.

$20k OOP/$12k down? Definitely no. Never put that much into a lease.

Completely agree with above. There's also probably a 3-4K markup in there.

I would maybe tell the CA to take out taxes and fees and that you are paying them up front and otherwise, $0 down on the car. I would also ask for the MF they are using --- and then I would back into the numbers when he gives you a revised quote.

Just my .02 but I am very shrewd

I’m surprised by the amount of people that put tens of thousands of dollars down on a lease… never understood it. Wouldn’t put down anything more than $0

I’m in negotiations right now.

All attach some screenshots I hope they come out.

More money down on a lease has NO impact on the residual (lease end) value. It’s only purpose is to lower payment. And if something happens to the car, all that money is gone.

My CA just offered 73.5K on my 22 G82c

I think I’ll be keeping the car. And I still want the new 23 G80cx
