- You can adjust the brightness of the HUD. It's definitely too bright by default and too large. Not a fan of the tach design either.
- I find the base M3, M4 the best of all worlds…luxurious, fast, lots of room, great driver engagement.
Agreed, the HUD brightness at max is absolutely too bright at night. I bought my car in the Spring, and I telework, so I never actually DROVE the car very far at night for quite a while. The first time I made a serious night-time jaunt, it was deeply distracting. Thankfully, the brightness wheel takes care of that without having to dive into iDrive menus. That control is certainly on my list of controls that should remain physical controls.

Totally agree. Took my CS to the M Town event yesterday and drove a G80 zcp. My CS is stock except MPE, MHAS and AA midpipe.

CS was just a better car. Sure the G80 had a nicer interior, but driving experience lacked the 'wow' factor. I'd pick my CS 10/10 times.

With the G80 M3 CS out now could you please change the thread topic to specify “F80 M3 CS”

Yes will do. Figured that's why this thread got resurrected. Maybe I'll update it with g80m3cs vs g80 m3 as well. I have one coming in September and my brother has a g80 currently.

I am absolutely shocked how closely your review / opinions resemble my experience.

Objectively a better car all around... subjectively, just missing something special... and Zf8 vs DCT... let's not kid each other here about which one is more fun.

Another thing that REALLY confused me after my extended test drive was that BMW made an objectively heavier, more luxurious supposedly daily driven car but chose to use an S58 torque curve that is really gutless down low... That seems like 2 things working completely against each other... i get they wanted a more NA feel and linear curve but that's not advisable for a car that is supposed to be more things to more people now.
