Wow, Tanzanite on KO is never a combo I would have imagined looked so good on this car. Still wouldn't pick it over green, but that is definitely a top 3 combo for sure.

In the video they say it's close to San Marino Blue but all pics I've seen whether out in the sun or in a parking garage show it as a very dark color. Almost carbon black in certain conditions.
Having considered Tanzanite, and then instead buying a San Marino Blue M3, and now a San Marino Blue M2, and having parked next to my friend's Tanzanite M3 on many occasions, I can say that the two colors are NOTHING alike. Tanzanite looks like a bland shade of black in anything except very bright sunshine or under bright and direct LED lighting. I'd say it is 98% black, and 2% blue. If you work very hard, have perfect lighting, and get the right angle you can get a photo that makes it look blue. But pictures don't really reflect reality.

It gets literally ZERO attention at car shows or gatherings.

In the last picture, you can see the blue is still pretty strong even under dark skies.
Tanzanite is stellar when its clean and polished up... not sure there is a color in my opinion that degrades more as it gets even a tiny bit dirty. Maybe carbon black. Just loses anything special about it the second its not perfect.

Now gold brown for the interior.. perfection under all conditions.

It's because we have roads with twists in them. I am sorry, it's true.

Also ordering mine with PDK, AWD, carbon roof and not sure about he aero kit.

Thanks that's helpful I will definitely go check out Tanzanite Blue in person before I place an order next spring.

Appreciate the input I expect my G80 to stay clean all the time as it'll be in the garage on rainy days which is why I'll be getting a beater. So I think I can keep a Tanzanite Blue G80 in good shape but honestly I'm still leaning towards Brooklyn Grey at this time.

G80 looks great in black IMO, at least what I've seen from the UK pics of a G82... If you want a black exterior I think it'll also look great with the orange interior

You mean like this?

I do agree that once TZB gets slightly dirty the wow factor drops somewhat exponentially. SMB is definitely more vivid all the time.

I'm surprised as a Youtuber that seems to have some sort of "in" with BMW as he was one of the first to see this car back in June, and likely is getting a generous discount for advertising the dealership, that he didn't just go with the "Ultimate Package" it would have been a couple thousand more and he would have had all options except carbon ceramics.

I found the video informative as I am between the same two exterior color choices. One thing that was new information to me was the fact that you can go with Blue painted calipers instead of just Red/Black. Also, the idea of black calipers seemed like you'd be short changing yourself from something that makes an M car standout by having bright colored calipers, but it seems to make a lot of sense if going with IOMG. The standard Red with Green just seems a little Christmas themed to me lol. This is the color combo that is in the marketing material though, I wonder what IOMG with Blue calipers would look like, if it would clash or not. I think TBII w Red would look fine though.

yea if you just asked be my favorite wheels it would 100% be the silver 825s so maybe ill stick with those...if orbit grey didnt have that light colored ring around the outside i would like those better i think. What to do with the calipers though now

Thought it was just me. Honestly he seems like a nice guy, but I don't trust his feedback lol not that I have any better driving experience than him, but I rather stick to some other automotive journalists for their opinions.

I want to like Tanz, but it reminds me too much of my Azurite Black. Not a bad color by any means, just too similar to what I've had and hard to maintain.

Have to admit I haven't seen it in person so maybe my opinion might change.
