The GT500 and the ZL1 would both beat the G80 (stock vs stock), both on a drag strip and on a track. The current SS Camaro beat the F80 handily, which is what I mean when I say the version of that Camaro with upgraded suspension, brakes, and 200 more horsepower would eat the G80 alive. But, as I said, there are things the G80 brings to the table that make it a better car for me (and plenty of others). |

Continuing to pull on this thread....the Model S Plaid must be Top 3 production supercar in the world with it's 0-60 in 1.99 seconds. As it "eats" pretty much everything alive by the 'eat alive' definition.

I would only add that the WS-6 was a Trans Am, the Firehawk was a separate TA package. Also, the TA was discontinued in 2002 which also marked the end of the 4th generation Camaro. The 2003 Terminator SVT Cobras were 12 second cars stock and were much quicker than the previous ones. I owned two Ram Air WS-6 TAs (one automatic, one 6 speed) and E36 M3 and E46 M3 in a fairly short period of time. While the E36 didn't have a prayer, I'd say the E46 was pretty close in acceleration and could even edge out the TA from a roll more often than not, but it was definitely a drivers race. The Terminators were in a different league from all the aforementioned cars. |

I’m pleased to report that the G8x is quite competitive with the ZL1 (impressive car). In a straight line, it’s a dead heat.

Thank you. The G8x bumps the M3/M4 up a class relative to American muscle. I think this car’s practically a bargain if you can keep it around $80k. BMW M will almost certainly win back a lot of customers who churned to other makes during the F8x generation.

I can't quite make out if the car in the video is the current or last gen ZL1. |

As Chris Harris put it, that's all it has. They'll just keep getting faster and faster, but at some point that wears off and it isn't really that comfortable going to mach 5 in under 2 seconds over and over. Just something you brag about and show your buddy one time and the novelty wears off.

Chalk one up for the newbie - the G80 looks great in 3/4 view and there was a lot of love and attention given to this SPY last night at the Charlotte Street Car Takeover.
