Next we will see manufacturers raise new car prices marginally faster year-over-year than before and soon inflated new car prices will make the inflated used car prices seem reasonable. Same thing happened to boats after 2008.
I think you could be spot on. Same has happened with Luxury watches. I bought a high end watch last year at MSRP and could flip it for 100% gain 1 year later if I wanted. It's madness. The watch makers can see what prices their watches are demanding so they in turn are now jacking up the MSRP's

My drive off payment is $2,928

I have a 2019 z06 with a manual with just over 10k miles on it which i financed and could sell for a hefty profit but im having a hard time stomaching paying over 1100 a month for a lease.

I'm considering waiting 6-12 months but who knows if it will get any better, the downside is ill be putting way more miles on the z06.

Should i go for the deal or wait? I dont need a new car now but im gonna need a back seat in the next year or so.

i FOOLISHLY didn't check my lease payout on my 17 Z06 lease 2 months ago and i literally missed out on probably minimum 10k profit on that dam car. I miss my Z. She was fun. I see you're in lauderdale, guess you haven't had luck around here either..

I bought mine from bomnin after driving a 17 grand sport for two years. After driving nothing but German cars I was super impressed and love my z06 and I'll be sad to see it go.
I'm glad I decided to buy and not lease, should be able to make money off it.

Haha Yea no luck down here and tbh after buying cars from both Lauderdale and Vista I'd never do business with either of them ever again anyways.

I leased the Z, probably had to go out of state to find it ofc, because i dont buy shit from FL.. the dealer that has the car now is selling it for 88k... I could've kept the dam thing and made a huge chunk. It pays to pay attention.

Vista is 4 mins from my house, i absolutely hate them. I hope it burns down. Lauderale, can be competitive, although i haven't tried to deal with them for this new M3 for my brother.

for those of you who are trying to order a car, are you coming to some sort of an agreement with your dealer as to what kind of discount they are (or will be) giving you at the time of delivery? Obviously programs change each month, and it is what it is, but the discount is up to the dealer.. how do you navigate this? No way i'm paying 1300 for a 90k car based off terrible programs.

It seems that 99% of those that do finally get their dealer to give a discount then proceed to never get an allocation. Dealers don't need to give a discount in this market so if they agree to one chances are you are going on the standby list in case the demand tanks. Just about every make of car is going to full MSRP these days.

the reason i ask is because i'm also looking for an x5 for my mother. So a dealer suggested i order one. I said ok... but i'm not paying 900 for a 68k car (when i say "I" i mean my father) he says, "not a problem this market is terrible i wouldn't either, let's build a truck and when it gets here we'll discuss"

So i did spec one out, and he did build it, and i do have a prod # already... I made it clear with the ground rules.. i want the car, i dont need it... I just dont want him to waste his time.

So of course i mentioned the M3 for my brother also, which he admitted he does not have an allocation but will put me on for his first one when they come out in about 2-3 weeks...

MSRP is a "deal" in so cal right now. Most dealers are marking up $5-10K, and with recent news of further chip shortage, this isn't going to get any better soon.

I talked to about 5 different dealers in So Cal and all of them wanted $10k for an ordered car and the two that had a car in stock wanted $15k for the one on the floor. I was able to order at MSRP. Anticipating a production number the next allocation rounds as they had none available. This was last Saturday.

Glad to hear that you were able to get a build at MSRP. I was working with a broker, that had an allocation for build, and the mark up was $2K. Estimated about 3 months ETA. I somewhat need a car soon, so I was able to secure a hold on an alpine white that is arriving in 1-2 weeks, at MSRP. I really wanted a brook grey with red interior, but that BMW said they sold it for $20K above MSRP. =/

Im surprised more people aren't buying. Lease makes zero sense. At least with .9 % financing you can pay the car down and sell if you want. Lease you're stuck with the monster payment and nothing left to show at the end.

….unless you decide to keep it. Leasing can make sense. I've known people to negotiate with BMW during the buyout process as well.

I have a base M3 I'd let go of for the right down payment.

Why would you let go? What don't you like?

I've sent my ideal deal on my proposed build to my CA (literally sent him the leasehackr calcs) and he said that should be doable. So we're operating under the verbal understanding that this car will be discounted regardless of the programs at time of lock in. I know it's not in writing but I am not expecting any funny business based on my relationship with the CA and Sales Manager. YMMV.
