It feels like a-la James Bond future car! With matching 4 grenade launchers. Whoever mess up with the humongous front grills they will get the taste of it.
They're really missing the bmw ingenuity and authenticity. BMW should take this shit seriously and fire someone from the design team. |

I quite like the central exhausts, admittedly 2 would look better than 4 but its still cool imo.
Looks like the rear wing has 'swan' mounts so its obviously a functioning piece & not just cosmetic. If it's a gts or csl then it should differ from the usual M, if the styling is too hard core or whatever for you when released then don't buy it. Imo the biggest issue with the new 4 series is the size, it's just too big.

For my taste, just two exhaust tipps in the middle (like Porsche GT models) would look better. But since 4 exhaust tipps always was a ///M sign ... they were forced going this route?
Wing is very small. Too small for having serious effect. So rather a M Performance part addon than the wing of a CSL or GTS model. |

I've hated other recent designs but like this
I've been on the bandwagon of many others not liking the direction of the new M3 and M4 (and this is someone whose had a E92, F80 and soon F87 CS and love all three designs).
However I seem to be breaking off from the pack when it comes to the rear of this new car. My first reaction was "that is cool!" and "I'd love that in the garage". I can even sense it making a whole lot more sense of the front of the G80/82 which at the moment i think is disjointed from the rest of the vehicle. |

If you don't see it I don't know what to tell you. And let's hope that this little trinket doesn't make the final form of whatever this was testing in Germany a few weeks back |

That exhaust setup reminds me of a redneck modifications people do to their cars.

I'm assuming this will be auto only and cost six figures. At that point, I can't see any benefits (other than having additional space and being a BMW) over let's say a C8 Z06.

Yeah the M1 e28/34/30/36 all had single twin exhausts the quads came in from e39/46 onwards if I recall correctly.

The E46/E39 cemented the ///M quad exhaust setup but it started showing up on the then flagship E31 8 series Ci and CSi models during the late 90s. Then the E367/8 Z3 ///Ms got them. But those were lower volume cars. Once the E46 M3 got them in 2000 there was no looking back and that became the signature setup for any ///M.
