Doesn’t matter if you like the content or not, people like him have changed the car industry for the better (for us buyers), if they need to do these for $$$ or for the fun of it, I am all for it.
People don't understand it's not a serious drag race channel, it's just stupid entrainment. It's like criticizing a 2am slice of pizza on the corner for not being a Michelin star meal. It's not trying to be. Not interested? Move along.

Very cool! As a CSL owner I'm only interested in the roll race

Loved it. Porsche allover magic vs M power. When I think I can’t admire BMW motor engineering any further they prove me wrong again and again and…

There is no way in hell I guessed the M3 could touch that unicorn of a dream machine. Rear engine with those mega tires is pretty much a draw vs the X-drives skinny tires and front end weight bias.

Impressive BMW!

Today though, give me the MT 997 GT3 RS 4.0 for track use. Fun over all out speed

The difference in a drag race would be minuscule since the car is already launching at almost 6500 revs thanks to the engine in the back pressing those huge sticky tires, and it would only make the M3CS look more convincing winning in the roll race due to the drivetrain power loss and added weight.

Just for the reference, here are the data for the Porsche 911 Carrera S (992) and Porsche 911 Carrera 4S (992):

https://fastestlaps.com/models/porsc...-carrera-s-992

https://fastestlaps.com/models/porsc...carrera-4s-992

4 wheel drive is actually degrading overall performance of the 911!

And you can see it, the P-car hooks up just as well or better, it’s hooked up when the wide raw power band of the BMW put the RS to the sword, somewhat.

Is it just me? I find this pretty impressive. Yes, the best cars aren't necessarily the fastest in a straight line, but given the significant price delta and the typical use case for most of us (not on a track), the M3 does quite well. I'd like to see how a non-CS M3x does against the GT3RS as I think the price delta there will really make even more sense versus the performance delta.
Yup or even a G82 xdrive.

Yeah. I think the CS crushes the CSL from a dig, but the CSL walks from a roll.

IMO a poor choice of vehicles to line up and absolutely cringe-worthy commentary. I’d much rather see a M5 CS vs M3 CS or a track challenge invoking the GT3RS.

yes value shoppers are definitely going to consider a M3 over a GT3RS when trying to figure out what to do with $300k

I love reading the replies on the front page stories of this site! So many shitty and snide comments. My favorite was the one about a person living off their YouTube earnings! Could folks be more cunty I wonder?

As much as I love Porsches, I think power level of 3RS is inadequate especially in the arena it's expected to compete in. I welcome hardcore/trick suspension but at this price level I wish instead of milking the 4.0 N/A they would develop a 4.2l closer to 550/575hp .

The 4.0l is perfection and if anything is too much power in my 991.2 GT3RS. Feels powerful enough to slide around but refined and linear enough to control it. I wish more companies would have stuck to one engine archetype and continued to develop it. Such as what bmw should have done with the S65 (Direct injection, 4.4l, mild hybrid, dry sump).

992 GT3RS is almost 35s faster round the Nurburgring!
6:49.3s vs 7:23 😱
The GT3RS is all about corner speed, downforce and braking, coupled to an awesome engine, not a one dimensional drag race, which is so meh.

This is the dumbest f**king comparison I've ever seen. Every single person on this forum, given the chance, would take a GT3RS over a M3CS.
