Its a dead car ... look at these 2022 auction sales. Yes auctions are the bare bones sales numbers pre wholesale, pre retail, pre recon, transport, fees, etc but still. And most of these are in good conditions with CR's over the 4.5 range.

Idk--- the car looks great to me as I saw one the other day and was impressed. My then my buddies were following me in my Plaid and when we stopped they both said damn that thing is fucking wide in the rear (the 2021 refresh got the wide body) and I do like the looks of mine with the wheels and the drop.

Just two weeks ago, an Audi dealer offered me $40K off MSRP on a brand new eTron GT RS

A gorgeous car without a doubt, but I declined.

Its a good looking car for sure. It might be because theyre quite rare around here compared to the number of taycans and plaids I see, but I saw one driving around the other day and it looked very exotic and aggressive in comparison.

However, I still dont see a target market for this car, even in the 80-90k range on the used market. Now that you can get a brand new plaid at 89, why bother with something much slower, half the range, and a few years used, for the same price?

I struggle to see any EV winning over another for a buyer on "emotion" or driving dynamics, so to me it feels like the decision is largely a stats comparison, where the plaid clearly has the e tron gt absolutely beat in every way at a fraction of the cost (new).
Besides die hard audi loyalists who want something familiar, I dont see many taking the plunge.

Have you driven one? I’ve not, have driven P100D as fastest Model S, also Taycan Turbo S.

They are chalk and cheese. Plaid is heavy with air suspension. It’s got some athleticism, but what’s there has been tweaked over the years. It was never made to be a performance car. But I mean you’ll smoke ANYTHING in it.

It’s just a very different driving experience. And, as shown above, it will be worth nothing in 3 years. Not all of the value in a performance car is straight line speed, but it’s a hell of a drug. Needs real brakes though.

Normally id agree about depreciation but how many people bought for $140K? you get for $90K now. Might not see value erode as much and i dont think elon drops more than to hit tax credit.

Yes sir! I personally never ever look at resale of a vehicle. If I like, I buy and drive the shit out of them. Then again, I would never pay over MSRP for a mass produced vehicle. It is crazy the price drop on the Tesla’s though

In SoCal there are several plaids on Turo at any given time. I paid ~$500 for a 2 day rental. I could do that a few times a year to get my acceleration fix and it’d definitely cost less than depreciation from ownership. Plus it would feel fresh and exciting each time because as we all know we acclimate to fast cars very quickly.

Oh I completely agree. Speaking purely from a financial perspective. Would take one over an M3Cx in fact. I just happen to be one of those diehard manual freaks.

new brakes seem to work--- just not sure for how many times (joking a little) ...

We all would choose the Bug if money was no object but its still an interesting race no?

There are tracks and HPDE organizers that won’t allow electric vehicles to participate since liability is too high, electric fires, etc. Have to be able to have access to a track to truly enjoy any of these cars. Straight line speed is mostly boring…

I just read that Audi, officially, is offering $30k incentives on an Etron GT. Not even the RS!

Check this shit out--- my broker sent me this

165k msrp (must be a 23 as the 24's dont get the 30k) and its for any E Tron

30k credit
7500 ev credit
5k costco credit
10% off msrp (most of the discount here as Audi triple net from msrp to bottom is 14%)

So around 107k gross cap with a 100k residual at 2 years (7500 miles a year)...

DEAD value
