Interesting to see the latest software also affecting the transmission lockdown timing as well. I hope incrementally the ZF becomes more and more like the DCT’s of old, albeit probably not 100%.

Newest update changed a lot on my G42 M240i including better throttle map, stiffer suspension, and more pops from the exhaust👍

The touring was driven by Joe and was on the more wet side. The G80X slightly pulled in the rollers and the only way the Touring could win was via the launch. But the G80 crept back even in those races. The Touring has CCBS and bested the G80 in the brake test.

Joe was the countdown guy as well.

it's very poorly done drag race. Joe always wins as he was counting. Joe always wins as he has new tires. i guess that was more than enough compensation for starting on the wet side.

the only thing i can read from it is the rolling race the sedan destroys it, there was no contest.

i really want to know track times. surely the sedan will destroy it in the corners and the straights and there would be no contest?

didn't get the bit about transmission tuning.

joe is kind of a bmw shill. the latest bmw he has on order is the best one. he never says anything bad about the brand. (probably because he gets some kickbacks).

anyway the sedan is going to be the better performer. its 187 pounds lighter. the touring is less than 100 pounds off the M5. at 3900 vs 4100 pounds i doubt there would be a significant difference in feel, both are pigs.

on the bright side its 800 pounds less than a RS6 though.

I've never witnessed someone purchase the same car within the same generation so many times.

Also, wouldn't the main competitor for this car be the RS4 Avant (especially since they are mainly available in the same markets and RS4 power and drivetrain is the same as an RS5)? When compared against that car, the M3 touring is the true pig.

for some reason i thought the g81 was coming to the usa. if it did then the rs6 and e63 would be the only alternatives.
