in transit! my first post! hi!

Hey everyone!
I’m new here but I’ve been lurking for awhile ever since I put down a deposit almost exactly one year ago at Gebhardt BMW in Boulder, CO. Happy to report my car is “In Transit”. It was “Order Recieved” on January 14 and has been moving steadily along since then. I don’t really have any questions, just wanted to introduce myself but if anyone has any tips on how to send some favorable winds and currents to make the boat go faster, I’m all ears. Oh wait, I do have a question: where can you see which port it is headed to? It’s actually been quite fun following along and my kids think it’s entertaining. Oh wait, I thought of another question for those with young (age 5-7) kids… car seat or other kid accessory recommendations??

If it’s helpful, I’ll post more updates as it steams along.

Congrats!
You have to call BMW Genius, they should be able to tell you which boat you car is on, which port it is heading to, and ETA to the port.
My car is in transit too, this boat is soooo slow LOL

Congrats on your nearing delivery! It’s crazy I put a deposit down in December at Gebhart and just received a production number. Guess demand is less now.

You'll be headed to Port Hueneme in California and VPC'd there before they put it on a vehicle carrier to Boulder.

As most of us do, we were geeking out when it got to this point in the journey for our M3/M4. Yes, it was fun following the build and transit.

Just ask your CA what your port is. That information is available immediately when the order is accepted by BMW. It's listed on your build sheet. Genius also has that info. They can tell you your boat once it is listed as In Transit (assuming it's the real In Transit and not the fake meaning it's getting transferred from inland German car depot to real Port- Bremerhaven or Zeebrugge).

I ordered mine from Winslow in January. It's now built heading to the port in Germany. Super excited!

Fun update! The ship reached the port in Long Beach today. I’m letting myself get borderline excited now. Does the last week (or so) seem to take the longest?!

For me, the longest part is the time after the east coast unload, when
it goes to the Panama Canal and back up to california

Two weeks late but this was an awesome day!! My dog didn’t know how to react. Maybe she thought the alarm system didn’t have enough teeth.
