Yes, since the LCI Oxide Grey seems to have disappeared for the G80. This color is a bit of a mystery. It was never available for the M4 but only for the M3. At the start in 2021 it was one of the standard individual colors (same as for instance Tanzanite Blue) with a higher extra cost than the regular metallic paints (but cheaper then real individual paints). Then late last year it became a regular metallic paint for the M3 with the normal extra cost as for the other metallic colors. And now with the LCI it has disappeared completely from the standard choices for the M3.

It is available on other BMW models though : for instance on the iX and new 7 series this is one of the standard metallic colors.

I think this color is likely more suited for a luxury car then for a sports car. Although it looks great on the M3. I have one in Oxide Grey for more than 18 months now, and still love the color.

Yes yes! I definitely think bmw removed it as it seems like it's meant more for a luxury style rather than an m car. However I feel the same with tanzanite. It seems very luxurious but adds that refined look to the m3 and m4. The first m3 g80 I saw was oxide grey and man did it really bring a sense of refinement to the m3. Whoever bought the m3 with it as a standard color got lucky because now it's "individual"

Removed perhaps because SSG was also there/very close and a more popular choice at the end?

I completely agree with the luxury sentiment. A primary reason I picked oxide grey was because it looks the most sophisticated, in my view. IOMG and that San Paolo yellow were too flamboyant, SSG honestly looked a bit boring, Dravit and BG looked ok but too trendy. Aventurin, the blue one, and white choices also just kind of...exist. I see why they limit it to the iX and 7 series.

I fully agree. Oxide is still a nice color option to have though.

I wasn’t sure about the color first, but I agree it’s super elegant and I get tons of complements. It does change a lot based on lighting.
