I know. I checked the date he posted and I'm waiting on the pics. I have the HAS on order with an expected delivery of august. Which is soon. But I was debating between the H&R or the HAS. I have deposit on the HAS. But I'm nervous. Idk. But the front def needs to go down…. 1,000%!!!

I got a very bad pic sent to me from a local shop who had another shop send them the G80 not 82 on the H&R specifics, and as I had feared, the rear is piss poor dropped.

I can upload it but it will suck.

Edit, here it is--- it was a cell phone pic sent to me and I tried just lighten it up so you can get the idea of the drop but dont shoot the messenger

Thanks

Like you said we can't draw conclusions from this quality pic.

It can't be long before someone posts good pics of a G80 lowered on H&R springs after a couple of hundred miles of use

sadly I think there is enough there to tell us whats up plus my shop contact said they were told it was piss poor in the rear--- only on the G80 specific.

Thanks for the pics but I'm finding it hard to see in those pics specially on a black car with black wheels! I can definitely see the nose drop in the comparison with the white car but the rear is not clear.

Do you have a close-up of the rear showing the wheel/tire to fender gap after the drop?

Does anybody think a set of dedicated winter tires will fit nicely and not rub with a set of springs on there? I am going to be running this car in the winter and I know the winter tires have a thicker tread to them!

Nice any more rear close ups as the wheels get lost with the paint and black fender well.

Thanks

And would you consider this a settled height? Looks damn perfect. Hope it rides well.

I had H&R springs on my MK3 and MK4 VWs and was very happy with the fitment of them on the MK4.

On the MK3, I ended up having to cut a small portion of one of the dead coils to get the ride height where I wanted it. I know there are going to be folks here who are strongly against cutting springs, but it can be done and done correctly.

I did it and had it had no negative effect on ride or performance. I had the car with this set up for about four years and never had an issue. Ride was great, very very similar to stock, maybe a tad stiffer and it greatly reduced lean in all directions.

Having done quite a bit of H&R drops on my prior M's and other cars such as AMGs, Porsche, R8's, etc--- the settlement amount is very very slight vs what we are seeing here with the likes of MSS. On my M cars with H&R I always felt, on my roads, that there was that extra compression or rebound which was annoying (5 of my 11 M's) but they had great form and so I was able to offset the functionality slight pain. In reality the dampers played a role too and these comp dampers are really good.

On BMW Id rather have KW than anything but the part is not readily available so in the interim I took a flyer on MSS and have been pleased on almost every level but one.

This video showed up in my YouTube today. Not sure if this is an official channel but the 0.4" (10mm) rear drop published for G80 is confirmed here once again

I hope you don't mind, but I edited the lighting on one of the poster's pics and one of H&R's pics from their website... to me the drop looks pretty good and even, at least.

Yep, that drop looks perfect. I would love to see some more reviews on ride quality. I'm pretty damn happy with the stock quality and don't want to give up much. MSS seems like a PITA, AST looks okay, but the only alternative to springs only would be the K3 or MP which aren't available yet and are $$$$$

That's what I'm waiting for. Some more information on how the ride is. I already hear its a little rough on the M4.

Right. Just got back from a spirited drive and the car rides so nicely, I'd hate to give that up as I have on any car I've ever owned in the past by only getting springs for looks.

Yeah, Im going to have to ride in a car with springs, before I waste the money to get it done.
