I know this sounds crazy but i was looking to get a Golf R/RS3 but i was never given any date as to when they would be available State side so i built out my M3. I still do not think there are any of either car in the country.

I've had 3 M3's and I have to say - definitely thinking about a Z06 - closest I can get to owning a car with Ferrari-like performance and still have enough money to have food, water and a roof over my head..

If people took the time to watch the engineering and design of the LT6, it is actually A LOT better than the NA flat plane engine used in the ferrari 458. The LT6, in simple terms, moves so much volume of air, it's NA but boosted at the same time. The engine is a masterpiece. Coupled that with the ME layout of the C8, the DCT, i mean come on. GM gave a ferrari to the consumer right before corvettes will soon to have zero sound. Every single person, corvette fan or not, all want a C8Z. Now i'm afraid of people jacking my shit when i get mine lol. |

No offense, but if someone wants a Ferrari and can afford it, buy a Ferrari, not an American-wannabe-Ferrari just because it's cheaper. Don't forget about future value as well. |

Not saying the z06 is better than a ferrari because that wouldn't make sense. No car is better than another. The z06 WILL be a better value over a ferrari, as most z06's are in terms of performance for dollar. But i totally get people would want a ferrari (if they can afford it), because of the name. I was just saying GM offered their version of the ferrari 458 but better at a time when everyone is going EV and/or smaller displacement turbo engine. GM puiled out all the stops and offered a monster NA engine that sings better than the 458. Corvettes aren't for everyone. But usually those who dislike them, or have no interest in them, always seem to talk, smile, and look at them when they're around them lol. At least that's my experience GM did a great job with this one |

Plus, given how much trouble their “special engines” have had in the past, I’d wait a year or two before buying. Unless you like beta testing for them. For example, the new brakes on the C8 seem to be engineered very well, they look the part, feel the part, but somehow are utter crap on track. Whether it’s the pad compounds, lack of sufficient cooling for the speed of the car, or something else, I don’t know. But last time on track, I helped a guy swap new pads halfway through and he still got *massive* deposits, to the point the car became undriveable. So let’s wait and see the actual performance and owner satisfaction before we declare a masterpiece. I’m rooting for them, but just sayin.

The second part of the test is online.
Watching the Giulia GTAm I assume that the M4 benefited greatly from all-wheel drive, the RWD version would have been significantly slower on this track in these conditions. |

Because of GM bankruptcy. The C7Z was supposed to have an NA engine. The LT4 was a last minute botch just so they can put the car for sale. The C7Z final piece was an afterthought. As far as the other stuff, i have not heard of any brake issues like that on any people i know with C8's. The only issue i see from a stock C8 stingray are alignment issues, causing massive understeer from factory. Once owners get the alignment sorted out, they are running with C7Z's and porsches. It's insane performance for what the car is. An entry level corvette. The Z06 is so advanced compared to a stingray. Not in the same league. So it's hard to look at the stingray and point out it's flaws and think it'll be the same for the z06. Z06's are just that much better. |

But as for your other comment, running with the C7Z and Porsches, well, that’s not saying much. I pass those and more exotics all day long. My car is quick, but shouldn’t be that quick.
