Alternatives to Waiting for M3
Just curious to see how many have given up on BMW fulfilling their order on a 2022 M3? I guess about 1500 of us are waiting for retrofits to close in March but it's been a long time coming for many.
I guess if you've gotten your deposit back there would be no reason for you to check this page but how many have come close? And did you you consider something else? In my frustration for waiting I started looking at the Lexus IS500 and managed to get one at MSRP. I'm still going to take delivery of the incoming M3 xDrive, and try to make both cars work in our household. |

I considered cancelling and going for the IS500 as well, but I had the '14 IS350 and (although I loved it) I couldn't get over the identical interior.
Still a good choice on the IS500, I always had a weakness for Lexus. |

So far with my time in the IS500, I've learned to appreciate the analog nature of the car. The M3 will be like a digital revolution in comparison but something tells me the nostalgia of the normally aspirated engine will be fun to change it up. |

I placed my order in Oct with the expectation that the car would be here for summer. If it were delayed past mid-summer I’d probably consider canceling and picking up something like a pre-owned F80. My car is on a train from Halifax now though so hopefully I don’t have to worry about that!
I have a truck that I currently daily so the car isn’t a need, it’s a want. The M3 will be my daily when it gets here though and the truck will just be for “truck stuff”. |
