Really don't like glossy wood, looks so fake. This looks fantastic.

Carbon is SSSSOOOOOOOOOOO overdone and getting tiresome.

Very nice. I have carbon fiber in the G80 but had wood in the F80 and always liked the look.

I planned on ordering the same, but I'm surprised at how different it looks from the configure site. what's the feel to the touch, is it smooth? or rough? I guess without the gloss it looks like it rough be rough to tbe touch.

I think the wood looks really good but somehow just doesn't seem to fit the overall sportiness of the M, IMHO. Congrats on the build and car though!

It's hard to say how much it actually added. I ordered Early Jan and got the car April 17 and had two weeks of PPF and coating.
Did they complain how hard it is to do?

They're giving me a song and dance about it.

My cars be there for 2.1 weeks now with no end in sight.😞

Are you talking about the PPF
The Detailer spent 2 days on paint correction and cleaning the exterior. The film guy did the front 1/3rd of the car in one day and then it was 1.5 days of ceramic coating and curing

The film guy had already done a g80 so he didn't say much.

The tint guy did complain about the rear window being difficult and that guy has like 25 years of experience

It feels like a lightly sanded piece of wood. There's definitely texture

Yeah they're making a stink about PPF on the whole car, and it's frozen paint too.. so no paint correction needed.

My cars been there for a little over 2 weeks and apparently they're still not sure when they'll have it done.

And it's far and away the most reputable shop in SD.

I do know they're wildly busy so maybe this is just the tale they're spinning for over booking themselves.

As long as it gets done well I'm cool with the time frame I guess.

Well my understanding was they have pre cut templates available for the front end by xpel but not the full body yet. So they have to do it by hand...but that does seem like along time

I'm normally a huge CF proponent, but it's getting played out nowadays. This is not a track car by any stretch of the imagination. It's essentially a modern e39 M5.

The wood trim looks fantastic. I'm glad you posted these photos because otherwise I would have never considered it. The glossy CF looks like crap in comparison. The wood trim in this matte form looks classy and practical. And, dare I say… sportier than the gloss on the CF.

Love it. Definitely switching from CF to this. Whenever I look at e39 M5's, the interiors that stand out the most and look exceptional are the ones with the wood trim.

It's kind of interesting that you say this isn't a track car. I had an e90 and it was like a go cart in a good way compared to the g80.
I think a majority of super cars and even corvettes make shitty track cars.
I'm still breaking it in so we'll see how it really feels

BUT without the CF trim how can your car be light as a racecar bro? Lol, kidding. Is that the Individual wood option in the US configurator? It looks great and I wish more modern cars pull of wood as good as classic cars.

Looks great, but there isn't enough of it... nothing on the door panels or elsewhere to tie it in to the rest of the vehicle.

The best part of the CF trim is that it extends to the steering wheel. If you also get the buckets, then you have a pretty cohesive interior design. (I didn't get them, because I don't want a divorce.)

I don't know... I got it with my IoMG, and it's awesome. I do wish I had of got the CF paddle shifters for their size. I just want wanted something different than CF.

To the op, I love the luxurious look!

HughesdePayne, whom did you use to apply PPF? I’m also in Michigan, have just ordered my G80, and definitely want to protect certain panels with PPF. (I’m experienced at applying ceramic coatings, so I’ll do that myself.)

BTW, thanks for posting your Fineline wood trim. That’s the trim I’ve selected to pair with Tartufo Full leather interior. I’ve had a couple E39 M5s with the all-leather-and-wood Heritage interiors, and that’s the vibe I’m seeking to replicate with my G80 build. I’m also “over” the excessive glossy interior trim, since I’m a stickler for spotless dashboards and consoles.
