It's honestly too short with the stock knob. Hard to not grind the 1-2 shift when driving aggressively. Don't know how I feel overall I wish I could keep the precision and feel with stock throws.
too short?! wow i haven't gotten mine installed yet but that doesn't sound good. i have a m performance aftermarket knob though so maybe that'll help?

I mean you may feel differently, I'm a bit of a bangshift man. Probably just shifting too fast for the gearbox but I'm sure I'll get used to it. Trying to find a taller knob that looks how I want it to.

Maybe the knob options Rogue shows AhsanU will help you out

Finally recieved a rouge engineering delrin shift knob. 1 inch up from the bottom stop and it's perfect. Shifts are tight, throws are usable and the shifter is closer to stock. Exactly what I was looking for.

Finally got my 3d printed spacer installed that holds the boot up against the shift knob.

Nice to hear! I've been finding it tough getting up to Rogue Engineering but I'm going eventually.

Can you share any pics of how it looks?

Awesome.

Care to share more details about that spacer/what it is exactly? I've got that leather boot from iND and am worried whatever I get from Rogue won't attach to the knob. It was attached to the OEM knob with some glue so I'm not sure how whatever I get will attach to the leather boot.

If it uses an OEM white retainer ring inside of the boot you can use a rubber grommet on the shift lever to keep the boot pressed up against the shift knob. However that is only really a good tactic if the knob is all the way on to the lever. I wanted even more height as I like the lever as close to the wheel as possible, so I made a 3/4 inch tall spacer with a 50 degree taper to mate to the taper on the bottom of the plastic ring inside of the stock boot. Install the spacer, the boot and then press the knob onto the shaft until it stops on the spacer and tighten the screws. Keeps the boot nice and tight and there is absolutely no chance of it sagging as it is a purely mechanical fit, unlike the zip tie and grommet technique and you aren't gluing anything to the shift knob. If you want some sort of retainer printed in the future PM me, I'm willing to work with what you have to help a guy out.

And even with the top of the lever being a few inches taller than the stock setup the throws are still shorter.

had rogue engineering ssk installed on my g80 6mt and am loving the feel. it really does make the stock shifter feel rubbery. now, it's very mechanical feel. it does require a little more force to get in gear though.

Guessing you got this sorted by now.. shifter must have been installed backwards.
