Nice stance. What do you think about the brake lines? I've had them sitting on my workbench for like 6 months. I forgot all about them, until I saw them installed on your car.

I have used SS brake lines ever since I saw an M3 go hard into a wall due to total brake failure about 3 years ago. Upon further inspection it turned out that he had picked up a sharp piece of metal with his right front tire which then mangled the brake line and embedded itself in the inner fender lining. Bleed out was very rapid and thorough. Shit does happen, and SS brake lines are inexpensive. The rears got swapped out as well, but after the pics were taken.

North Raleigh performance made a DIY video of this install on when they did my car. Figured it would be cool to share to this thread. Not sure if I am allowed to post here or not, but here it is….

Oem has installed on g82

Picked up the M4 after having the OEM HAS kit installed at my BMW dealer. They set heights at the BMW recommended spec. You can see below in the image what BMW carried out and the parts.

The 300km drive home was perfect. All highway driving and out riads in Australia are not good. The ride firmness is just right IMO. I was not after a firm ride. The height I am happy with and when my new wheels arrive (see below, due in 2-3 weeks, I think I will be super happy with the look.

This is the first time I have fitted any suspension upgrade on one of my M cars and I am happy I took the plunge.

Happy to answer any questions.

Thanks for the posts. So what is actually the recommended spec? What is the height reduction they were aiming for, and is it achieved already or will it still settle to get there?

It’s very detailed and on a page in this thread, but basically down full 20mm rear and down about 15-15.5mm front.

Anyone has the actual instructions from the kit? Curious what are the recommendations for best track performance.

I posted them in a PDF earlier in the thread. Check page 3 post 8, if I remember, correctly.

The recommended height from BMW is to achieve the maximum cornering performance on a track. That was their purpose in developing this kit in the first place. This height as measured from the bottom of the wheel rim to the top of the wheel well is Front: 628mm and Rear; 637 mm. for the M4 with 19in & 20in wheels.

The range of drop available from stock is 5mm - 20mm. The 5mm is achieved through the change to the shorter MP springs with no further adjustments being made. 15 additional mm's are available through adjustment. My car was delivered with heights of Front: 644mm and Rear: 657mm. I am assuming that this is the same across the board for all M4's with 19in & 20in wheels. M3's, and cars with different size wheels have different settings. A list of these is found in the installation instructions, and also in post #234 of this thread. A full drop from stock height should result in heights of Front: 624mm and Rear: 637mm on an M4 with 19in & 20in wheels. Again, this will differ for others.

Just to make sure we’re on the same page, you’re measuring from the bottom lip of the rim to the fender edge?

Correct. Measurements are provided in the instructions from both the bottom lip of the rim, and the center of the axle to the fender edge. Personally I feel that using the rim lip will be the more accurate method of the two as you have a solid starting point as opposed to eyeballing a starting point on a smooth surface. Just my OCD. Post #234 in this thread also duplicates all info provided in the kit installation instructions.

Ok, just making sure we’re on the same page. I’m assuming not everyone has read the entire thread.

Would the warranty still be valid if it’s not dealer installed? Thinking about picking them up from AutoCouture and having them install them.

My guess is they would probably honor the warranty of the parts but not the labor cost.

"If someone installs an aftermarket or

Another good one.

You don’t have to use the dealer for repairs
or maintenance to keep your warranty in
effect.
In fact, it’s illegal for a dealer to deny
your warranty coverage simply because you
had routine maintenance or repairs done by
someone else. That said, the dealer or
manufacturer can make you use select
repair facilities if the work is done for free
under the warranty.

Also as long as the sticker that came with the kit is installed in the door jam sans bubbles, they cannot deny the warranty…
