I would double check that and verify they have completed the work 100% to code in the anti-dazzle. My guy at the dealer here in Germany in KTOWN said he would and never did when I took delivery. I also have a US Spec G80.

If it is an independent center, they may have the tools to code. But, not likely at an official service site.

It is an independent, but with all the computers and program access from BMW, the dealer sometimes sends cars for him to dx as he used to be their master mech. He promised me he will. Only time will tell.

We are friends so I am sure if he can do it, it will be done. If not, no more wine for him. lol.

I lost my coding after the software update.
I see now there are two different coding for anti dazzle. What’s the consensus? Do you guys use the original coding or the new one?

Thanks!

Has anyone programmed anti-dazzle with idrive 8 using BimmerCode? (I know it is only 90% anti-dazzle)

Always newest based on current software level.

Not programmed, but coded; yes.

I followed this guide (https://g80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...php?p=27650517) on my iDrive 8 2023 M3 and am not getting the anti-dazzle lights to work. Anyone have an updated guide? Or does anyone have Vmaxx's guide but showing what category in the BDC Expert Mode?

First things first, What makes you say it's not working?

I have the headlights on at night with auto high beams enabled. I'm not seeing any high beams enabled when driving above 40MPH where the tunneling of low beams on cars in front. I only see high beams enabled when no cars are in front of me at all.

Coding must be off or you missed something.
Mine works, I used only Bimmercode so it's not fully activated.

Works when:
Over 40 mph when there are cars in front and on the highway.
(Can see the "Tunneling" going around the vehicle in front or moving to the right or left)

It does turn off when:
Street lights are plenty and bright, strait upcoming traffic or lots of reflective street signs.

Try using a backup to undo your changes, then try again.

When coding I always go in airplane mode on the phone, turn of lights, radio and heating/cooling and buckle up the drivers seatbelt.
(Stops the car from turning off) and leave the drivers door open.

Used this coding after the last update from last week, working but not fully sins I do not have access to esys.

BDC

LA1

C_BLC_PRE_ENA | 1
LUT_FLC_FORWARDLIGHTING_Y | AFS

LA2

C_AFS_ECO_LEVEL_3_ENA | 01
C_AFS_ENA | 01

LA3

LUT_AFS_CODRV_HOR | standard/init
LUT_AFS_DRV_HOR | F040_G005_AHL...
C_CLC_CURV_V2 | 23
C_CLC_CURV_V3 | 28
C_CLC_EXT_ENA | 01
C_HBA_DIM_ENA | 01
C_HBA_GFHBA_ENA_V_HI | 3C
C_HBA_GFHB_ENA | 01

There are 4 more codings in the lane assist camera "KAFAS04" which we cannot currently access with bimmercode. Supposedly these will make the auto dim less aggressive while also making the beams tighter. The HBA will still perform extremely well without these changes. These can be changed with Esys.
I HAVE NOT TESTED THIS AT ALL ON G8X. IF YOU HAVE ESYS, PROCEED WITH CAUTION.

C_FLA_COUNTRY_WITH_MULTIPLE_REFLECTORS | 01
C_FLA_US_SENSITIVITY_MODE | 00
C_FLA_BS_ENTER_THRESH | 03
C_FLA_BS_EXIT_THRESH | 02

Again this is not my coding, used it from a fellow member...

Gonna have to re-code the car after the OTA update, so I figure I'll give anti dazzle a go. However I can't make sense of everything you need to do in order to get it coded. I've read the guide linked above and genuinely can't make any sense of it. Can someone point me in the right direction.

Car is a 22 with iDrive 7, using Bimmercode with an iPhone plugged directly into the OBD port with a dongle.

I've coded the basic stuff in Bimmercode like chimes, warnings, etc...is anti-dazzle just another menu I may have missed, and it's a simple on/off toggle? Or do you have to go into advanced settings and mess with stuff? If so, is there a good how-to on this?

You will need to go into Expert Mode in the correct module and then find each line item above and modify, then save and code. It's not hard but you need to go slow and make your adjust the correct parameters. The ones at the bottom are not accessible via Bimmercode but the rest will get you 80-90% there.

For Example : The Module you want to code is BDC, then find LA1 section, open it, and code those 2 parameters per the instructions (it's just a checklist of params). Repeat for the remainder.

I have also seen posts saying that when the anti dazzle is running for a long time it can cause fogging in the headlamps.

I’m not sure if this 100% true but I have seen others forum posts about it.

I have checked the temps after the headlights have been running for 30 minutes in 80 degree weather using the anti dazzle and haven’t noticed any heat issues.

I think it’s related to coding in the light module it’s self to remove it.

In Europe or other markets they don’t have the light marker I noticed clearly it’s a DOT thing in the US

You need esys and bimmer utility to code the light modules.

It won’t work with bimmercode

Bimmer code only allows you to code the BDC module
