Never had anything coded on this or previous BMWs, but I’m intrigued by coding to get my laser lights to work to their potential. Question: if I have them coded to do so, will a BMW update (over the air) or while at the dealership, mean I’ll have to have the anti dazzle recoded afterward?

Most likely. I had to recode mine after the 7/22 update but with bimmercode alone you can get pretty much all the functionality of antidazzle. It's really easy if you want to learn it and then you can get by without having to pay someone.
https://www.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...php?p=27650517

I personally learned bimmercode and bimmerutility so that I can do the full coding, but there is a bit of a learning curve with bimmerutility but honestly it's not too bad

Does coding these also allow them to be brighter or is that different coding for the laser lights? Like another thing that can be done

Essesntally, this. Also, watch the video. The high beams turn off and on and create a tunnel around the vehicle, to illuminate as much of the road as possible.

No, we can’t make output of laser lights any brighter in US due to hardware limitations.

WTF, that is pretty nice. Its basically turning on your high beams, but omitting a portion of the beam that would hit the car directly in front of you.

Yeah, we need that here in the States!

That’s what this whole thread is about. We’ve coded this feature into our cars already. I haven’t done the over the air update, because I believe this will break the antidazzle coding that I’ve coded.

Finally had a chance to code and take a drive at night. I would say there's a significant difference if you're paying attention to your lighting and more so on dark roads with little to no light distraction. I live in a pretty urban area so it was difficult at first but took some back roads and noticed an improvement in reach. Not sure if it was a placebo effect but a car was coming in my direction and I thought I noticed my left side dim a bit as the car passed then adjusted back to brightness afterwards.

I would say it's worth coding for. It took me about 10min total and was really easy to find the codes and apply the updated values. I was thinking it was gonna be a night and day experience but if I had to give it a number, I'd say the brightness/reach was maybe a 40% increase. Does anyone know if it's ant-dazzle is active only after a certain speed?

Curious to heard what other's experiences were.

Mine definitely doesn't look like that! That's what I was hoping I can get with the coding!

It activates around 35mph, but you can change activation speed with coding to as low as 30mph. Also keep in mind anti-dazzle only works with auto high beams turned on.

If you want the bimmercode solution:

Third option is protools but you will need android:

Just to confirm these methods work with 2023's?

Funny, I've had this on 2017 G30*, but they weren't laser headlights, just regular LED. What's the reason you guys aren't getting this? Any clues?

The law was changed with the infrastructure bill. Not sure what else needs to happen in order for BMW to push this feature out to their cars.
