MY'23 Allocations - July

Don't think it's pointless to lock rates as early as you can. BMW is giving exceptions to the 90-120 day rate lock on a case-by-case basis and the fact that you locked early on with or without an allocation is more the reason for them to consider giving you that rate lock extension rather than forcing you to accept whatever the rate may be in the future.

I was told they had exceptions, and understood the delays, but it wasn't going to help 6-8 months+, from waiting for an allocation to delivery. I am already at 6 months, no allocation. Rates have changed from 0.9, if memory serves, to whatever they are now. I am sure if I locked, I would be told I have to take the new rate.

I do think if someone had their allocation and the build was underway, lock in. They would be more understanding with a car actually in production vs waiting on something that hasn't come to an order yet.

Yeah it might be a dealership thing. I was talking to 6 dealers and officially on 4 dealer waitlists. 2 of them didnt ask for any deposit to be on their waitlist whereas others did. My dealer didnt ask for any deposit even after placing the order.

Very interesting how each dealer does it. That's why it never hurts to ask each one the same questions. Could always get a different answer.

Not complaining. Will see if they still need deposit whenever I get an allocation.

I've been telling myself every month I've been #1 at my dealer.

It's been 6 months now. "Reasonable" isn't a thing anymore

Me too brother! I've been #1 in line for a MY2023 M3 at my dealership since March, but I can't help but think at times that allocations go to the highest bidders first....

Same here! #1, for months. And I am glad to know I am not the only one who has had that thought cross their mind.. I get M allocations are sparce, but come on.

Spoke to my local dealer sales manager today and they had me 3rd in line. He was honest that #2 has been in line since march and #1 has been first in line since December. Another dealer told me that they haven't received any allocation in the last 6 months. It's definitely believable and discouraging…

I gave up and picked up an 2020 X3M Comp over the weekend..still holding on to my M3 order tho. I have been first in line for allocation at my small dealer since December 2021.
