I mean, it really isn't nothing much how to open these valvles. On my case, I dont see why to spent money on valvle controller when I can do it manually, as I dont mind cold start or live in the city. Assuming they open all the way.

I only say that because it sounds different than another car with your similar setup.

yes, thats why I said its weird. That vid is on full throtlle too, so it will have less rasp. rasp are in the 4000rpm shifting point
Do you know valvle setting on that one? Controller or OEM

Based on his previous videos he's not using a valve controller.

Got it, I will give it a try. But it will be good to test these setup too on your side, when available.

Very excited. My Mad non-resonated mid-pipe was installed today with my Dinan cold air intake. I already have the SST valve controllers. That sound is SO much better now. It is outstanding to be able to have the loud sound and then tame it by putting it in OEM mode. Thanks for a great design MAD.

I think my valvles manually open 100% has to do something here.

Thanks for sharing! This set up sounds better and I like the volume overall but it still has raspy tone up top.

Just installed mine: MAD resonated, single mid w/SST valve controller.

After 1 week with it, LUV IT! No rasp, no drone, much deeper and much louder than stock with 100% open valves. Slightly louder than stock with ECU valve control and "comfort mode".

I was actually embarrassed of the lame, high pitched stock exhaust...now its pretty bad-a55.

So if I am planning to just mid pipe do you recommend going regular one (one listed for $799 on your website) or resonated. I will want to keep axel back stock and I already have valve controller.
My goal less rasp more deep tones.
Thanks.

You can go either really but if you want it on the smoother side go resonated. The rasp is very minimal with the non resonated and stock downpipes however the resonated will clean up the sound in the 3500 rpm range.

How much louder will a valve controller make the car with a Mad Non-Resonated Mid pipe with stock down pipes and muffler? I already installed the mid-pipe and love the sound but am still waiting for my valve controller as its at US customs right now

I got SST VC installed and gonna go w/ MAD midpipe after the breakin period, but wondering the difference between the non-resonated & resonated version.

Tkx!

Its a fair bit louder and definitely noticable. Fully open valves is bypassing the muffler entirely .

Both are louder than stock and much deeper in the mid-range

non-res is louder than res, res is cleaner. It's a major upgrade over stock either but a matter of preference on which is better for your goals

I have the non-res and SST valve controller. Sounds really good, much louder than I expected, but closing the valves it's great for long drives/stealth mode. If I had my time again, I'd go the resonated version of the pipe though. A small reduction in noise wouldn't be terrible and smoothing the sound out a little would be a bonus.

I have the same setup and I agree 100% with you. I wish I got the resonated pipe.

Have you tried the sst 50% mode? It might be exactly what you are looking for.

I have Mike, that's a really great bonus of the SST, but just wonder at performance or reliability issues running at that if the car needed more outlet volume (space not noise).
I'm not unhappy at all with the volume or sound, but I find there's a narrow rev band from around 2500rpm that I'd wonder whether the resonated version would smooth out.

No issues running the valve in any mode. The valve will redirect a percentage of the flow from the straight pipe to the muffler depending on how much you close the valve. I believe the stock valve open setting is around 30%-40% so.
