Also, the last Genius I talked to may have been correct - the production week may actually be Friday to Friday and starts 3 days prior to the start of the calendar week.
Congratulations! Were you originally Week 36 or Week 37? I was originally Week 36 and went into scheduled for production on August 2nd. Then on September 1st I went into order received and got bumped up to Week 37 and then got switched to scheduled for production a few hours later that same day. Still in scheduled for production as of today

I was week 37 from pretty much when I received the allocation. In my various calls with with geniuses at BMW NA, one of them mentioned in passing that looking at the history of the allocation, it used to be for week 31. I’m guessing I didn’t get week 31 because it was an individual order, and if I’d done something plain, I may have been up to 6 weeks ahead of where I’m now.

Another update: Estimated completion date is September 22, but they are still categorizing this build as production week 37.

Anyone else still in Scheduled for production that was supposed to be Week 37? That was last update on Friday for me - that I’m still Week 37 but was still in 112 (and as of today).

They’ve always told me that it’s when it starts production. My estimated completion date is Sept 28. Maybe to account for the individual paint.

Weird.. Yeah, my build already had a VIN and was in "production begins" status when the Genius conveyed the Sept 22 completion date.

Still in 112 here. A genius person told me to tell my SA to contact an after sales area manager and see if either they or someone higher up at BMW NA can contact the factory and get an update. I asked my SA today and he said he’d look into it. I’ll let you know what I hear back.

Transitioning to week 37 thread. CA indicates that my week 38 G83 was built in week 37 and is now “in released to distribution” status.

I started out with a week 35 projection. but was pushed to week 36, followed by week 37 a few days later and last week the build was transitioned to week 38.

To the credit of the BMW NA Genius who I last spoke to (and I didn't believe them then), they said the build week is from Friday to Friday and that my build week was 37 for sure. Well, like clockwork, on Friday, Sept 10 in the morning I saw I had hit Production begins and had a VIN.

They'd also said the build would take 2-3 weeks. And I only checked the automated line today for the estimate after you posted that you got that estimate. And that turned out to be true too - exactly 2.5 weeks going by Sept 28.

I'll be checking the build process day by day on the site so it'd be good to compare notes on where my extra 4 business days come in.

I’ve been told I’m week 37 for 6 weeks now and I’m still 112. Last called today

In 112 too. Ironically, it still shows week 37 build. The ordering process really makes my patience reaching its limits. I'm thinking Supra&Sienna now.

Yea with the lack of transparency going on and how slow things are moving in general (even for people who are going into production) i'm considering moving on as well. Just need to see how to get my "non-refundable" $2500 deposit back. It was on a CC so might just do a chargeback and explain that they can't give me any deadline for when i'll get my car.

It sucks cause I had a 2021 M3 Comp (for a week before it was totalled) and as much as I had fun with it and would love another (xDrive) version, i'm not willing to wait till potentially 2022 to get it..

I just ordered M3 comp RWD few days ago from Atlanta dealer. and my sales man said my order will allocate about 2 month. Now i am thinking to change to AWD.
The awd has more allocation than rwd? Shorter time to get production number?
If it does, i will change to AWD.

Dealers can flex among M3 models and among M4 models, but not between M3 and M4. So there’s no difference in waiting for an allocation of RWD and AWD M3s.

What do you guys think about adding the parking ass pckg to my build at this point? I'm still 112 week 37 and haven't budged for some time now.... risky? Worth it in regards to possibly getting pushed out further? At this point I feel I'll be waiting till Christmas anyway...
