Track alignment
Has anyone gotten a track alignment? Curious what the factory settings were and how much negative camber can be squeezed, if any.
I thought I saw someone say they got -2.0 camber in the front which would be pretty impressive

Not track alignment but to give you a reference point. The shop said that we could go up to -2.5 camber in the rear.

I'm not sure I'd want more than the -2.0 camber in the rear anyway because rear grip might become an issue in certain scenarios, but it's good to see what it's possible to tweak that much It also looks like they gave you zero front toe which is pretty typical for road course and gave you a bit more rear toe than factory alignment. This should help with increased stability under heavy braking. Will check my alignment next month after the car gets lowered because I had a little movement in the rear under heavy braking at the track so my car might need similar rear toe as yours

These are my Before (1) and After (2) alignment results. (2) is a track alignment for the tracks where I do the majority of my driving. This shop is specifically track oriented, and he was shocked at the front camber delivered by BMW. Since front camber is fixed, there is nothing to be done about it other than camber plates or major front end surgery. Surgery still wouldn't result in ideal camber, so since the car handles beautifully through the turns as is, I have opted to wait for the camber plates.
Anyway, the takeaway here is that if you are going to drive your G80/82 on a track regularly you really should get a proper track alignment, and camber plates STAT.

But why the huge discrepancy in front negative camber even after adjustment? 1.4 left vs 2.2 right With that said, the fact that we can go to 2 or 2.2 negative camber on stock suspension is still really good. Kudos to BMW for that because previous F platform was much much worse than that. My M2C had negative 1.3 from factory non-adjustable

wow, that is a pretty lousy alignment.
Before taking delivery do you think it's reasonable to request that the dealer produce an alignment sheet? |

I had GC camber plates on my f80 and probably wouldn't buy from them again. The Vorshlag camber plates were much better. They didn't get clunky after 2500 miles.

Anyone as an alignment done on a Xdrive model ? Really curious since lower control arms have different part numbers between RWD and AWD..

Pretty happy with this, maybe too much rear camber but I'm sure I'll change things around eventually. Lowered. And this is on G82. Tech is a buddy of mine and they did not have G82 on their computer, only G80... For some reason. |

He gave you quite a bit of front and rear toe in. I'm going to start with zero front toe, about 0.15 rear toe in and about -1.8 negative rear camber.
