M3cs or 911gt3
Thinking through this I couldn't sleep yesterday night ... Mind kept analyzing. Thought will take some opinion
not comparing a 4 seater to a 2 seater, but more $$ spend a longer term thought + fun. My Porsche SA called up yesterday night and offered a pre-built factory 911 GT3 at MSRP. I have had few 911s and Macan GTSs over past few years with this dealer/SA and was always waiting for a GT3. Its a MT and the folks ahead of me didn't want a manual or pricey spec, so I got the next draw. The issue is its more a factory car and hence comes non-configurable and its spec'd ~ $230K . Shark blue, Racetex blue stitch interior with full carbon bucket seats and more packages. I also have an M3CS ordered with my super good BMW CA, MSRP priced at $124K. My plan was to keep my current 911 23C2S MT and get M3CS as a family 4D Sports Sedan. So, if I get the GT3, I will have to tradein my current 911 and also cant afford an M3CS on top of it. GT3MT has always been like a dream car for me. I soughta feel bad for the BMW CA as well, as I will have to back out of M3CS which he worked through his management to get me the only one they had. I have two family DD - an X5 and Macan GTS for ref, so the 4 seater Vs 2 seater is not a very big deal for me. Any opinions ? finding it hard to land on a decision. I know its stupid issue to have but thought will take some thoughts as we all here are sports car enthusiasts .. |

Edit: that's a lot of add-ons though. I see your dilemma.

GT3, without any second thought.
I prefer having one proper performance vehicle than having multiple ones which is trying to catch up to the benchmark (GT3). And a GT3 is on the bucket list for most of us. |

Depending on how comfortable you are with your current finances, I'd opt for the GT3. I know it sucks because you really like your BMW CA, but it's also part of the job. Just like how you have a chance of getting the GT3 cause the people ahead of you didn't want it, once your ordered M3CS comes in they'll just sell it to the next person, so it's not like your BMW guy lost out really. It's a desirable car, so I'm sure your contact has another client he could swing it to.
You have two DD's in the garage already, both very good ones I'd say. Add the GT3 for your fun days and drive the Macan on the daily. If the GT3 comes specc'd close enough to your tastes, I'd say no harm done getting your dream car. Cheers! |

I would take the fun-family car at half the price. Nothing like a fun family car, many on here do not get this as they may not have a family. You will use it way more than the GT3.
My opinion - A fun family car and an older more analogue GT car is the way to go, 997 GT3 is my recommendation. |

Dealers love you. You buy lots of expensive cars. There is reason others passed on a $230k GT3…. Sounds like that was a dealer spec’ed car. If so, shame on them.
If you have FU money, sure buy it but you said that you could not get both the GT3 and CS so it’s an easy pass. But, I would pass on the GT3, pass on the CS and spec a GT3 (even with a small ADM) or find a slightly used one - there are a bunch available. Or get a 991.2 GT3. |

"GT3MT has always been like a dream car for me."
You have 2 DDs already, why do you need another for the family? There is no need for M3CS. Get your dream car and don't think twice. '24 Porsche are all increasing in price. There's another price increase expected in later half. Not saying this is an investment but it's a no brainer to try out GT3 and then come back to M3CS later. For context, I cancelled on M3 fully loaded order for '23 992S, going from MSRP of $106K to $155K. I can't afford $155K but YOLO. |

Totally understand your predicament. First world problems, but a good one to have! I have an 18 gt3, and there is no comparison. it still sells more than I bought it. If it's a fun car then get the gt3 at sticker. Change your mind later, then sell it without losing money (even with that high spec) and then move on.

Exactly. CSs are already going for MSRP and unspoken for in certain colors. We also don’t have a verdict on it yet. I’d get the GT3, especially if it’s a dream car. The value will hold.

I bought a 2015 GT3 at MSRP and sold it 2 years later for MSRP that was 991.1 the 991.2 generation started going below MSRP before Covid pandemic as Porsche produced more of them and at the same time introduced the GT4/Spyder which are great cars. and I think the market is heading in that direction though slower than most has predicted having said that, and if I want to make a bet, GT3 because of its limited production relatively speaking and the fact every thing is heading hybrid/electric will be one of the least depreciating cars on the market |

But, yep, the GT3 is a good bet to retain value/depreciate less. |
