How long am I going to be waiting for my plates?

Quite frustratingly I have some black style plates at the DMV, but they won’t give them to me because they were ordered for my old car, which I sold.

For my new car, I have the temp plates and am waiting for the white plates. The DMV said I have to wait until I get my white plates Eg my registration, and then swap over to the black plates.

Any idea how long it takes to receive the normal white plates after buying a car from the dealer and receiving the temporary registration?

I don't know but I'm curious as well. Just over a month so far for me.

I took about 2.5 months to get my white plates, then another month for the black sequential plates.

My sequential, standard plates arrived in the mail roughly 2 weeks after I picked up the car last month. This was a lot quicker than I expected. Now I have a personalized plate on order. I'm guessing that will take a while.

Did you receive yours yet? I took delivery on 5/1 and was told my plates were in the mail as of 5/27. Yesterday I learned from DMV that it takes up to 3 weeks for white plates to arrive AFTER they are mailed. Assuming it is being walked by hand across the state…

My personalized plates came in about 4 months this year. The people at DMV kept saying I won't get them for at least a year lol.

About 4 weeks for mine. I was going to order the black plates, but frozen white plus the Cali plates with the anniversary badges is a beautiful combo imo
