New G80 M3 owner from Dallas area

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Figured I’d throw my hat in the ring and say hello. Just picked up my new 2023 M3 comp 50th Jahre Edition Interlagos Blue. Definitely a dream car of mine, and so far enjoying the shittttt out of it! I also own a 2020 m340i that currently puts down 600 WHP with PI Flex Fuel and a bunch of other goodies. Although the m340 is faster, the M3 outperforms it in EVERY SINGLE WAY! Here’s a couple
Pics of both rides!

Paul

P.S. the M340i is for sale at a STEAL for 45k 😜

It’s stock as of now….i think I’ll keep it stock for a little bit since I have the rowdy m340. To be honest with you I have no need or want to modify the M3- it’s pretty on point. When I am ready to turn it up I will work with Matt again. He also tuned my wife’s SQ8, he’s a great guy!

Nice and congrats! Given the background looks like you bought from the same dealer I did about 45 days ago. I’m in north Dallas as well.

Are you in those commercials?
Sounds like a line from it.

I, on the other hand, would never get a vehicle from the Plano guys…

Ya we went to the Plano location first and weren’t near as happy with the service as we were with the Grapevine location. Much better there.

Do y’all have a good service advisor you use at the Grapevine location?

I have bought last 4 BMWs at Arlington and they were always awesome, up front, no surprises and always throw something in -- like free tint on my G80 that is coming in...

I never ended up buying a vehicle from Plano, always something unexpected with them...
I did service my vehicles there (they are 2 miles from my house vs 40 miles for the Arlington guys)... And that was not stellar.
First, they put me in some crappy Enterprise rental instead of the Loaner
Second, my M2C brakes were vibrating at 1k miles (between 40 and 60mph), they replaced rear brakes (made no sense to me), kept the car for 3 days, then gave it back and there was absolutely NO improvement. Pissed me off, then took the front brakes apart, "determined" that must be the cause, but were our of stock and kept my cat for THREE WEEKS while waiting for the brakes to arrive from Germany and put me in a crappy, beat up base model Mustang with 40k miles for 3 weeks...

I’m friends with the VP at Sewell Audi McKinney- so I just have her bring the cars to that location- I’ve never actually stepped foot in a BMW dealership lol- and after I buy cars I never go back to the stealership- all work is always done at BMW/Audi Indy shops.

On another note- this car is the first car I’ve ever owned where I can honestly say I have no desire to modify it. The driving characteristics, exhaust tone, engine management, and power/torque delivery is amazing!

I have only had a good experience with Sewell BMW in Grapevine and have a good SA there. I have now had all 3 of my cars serviced there and always quick, always have a loaner, and no issues whatsoever.

I have not had a good experience at Arlington sales or service, but on the service side I guess they have had "new management" come in? They wanted a $10K deposit for an individual color M4, so they lost that entire deal.

I have a friend who got a 330 at the Plano store and it looks like they have not been fully engrained into the "Sewell way" yet. We waited around a while to pick up a vehicle paid for in cash and reception was pretty rude there.

Yah Sewell recently bought the Plano BMW/Mini. I’m sure it will be up to standard soon 🤷🏻

This is the right take. The car is phenomenal as is. And once you pass the break in and get to use the whole power band it gets even better.

Welcome to the club.

Yes, because nothing beats driving the car at 7000 RPM around DFW LOL.
To me, that 1200 mile break in is totally irrelevant from the perspective of daily driving. It is the restriction of going full blast on a track, as intended.

also in DFW.

Getting on the Sewell wait list for a individual build (thinking SMB or Oxford green + buckets)

Just sold my 911 for our first house that we're building. Will live vicariously through everyone.

Have you tried the other dealers? They may be no wait list...
When I realized I will need 4 doors, I picked up the phone and called Arlington February 5, had my production number February 6, and am waiting for the boat now...

So i have NOT - BUT i have a 10 month build time for my house & don't want to purchase anything until AFTER we close.

Want to see what rates are for the mortage and how the economy is doing, and also save an extra $1500 per month for the next 10 months to put towards the down-payment of the house - so the wait list is actually perfect for me!

But i need to get my hands on an x-drive to drive and see if i like it! Not gonna lie - i love my 911 soo much so the temptation for another one is high but i have a kid so it's hard

I ordered my M4 competition from Sewell Plano, and the experience was good. I also had my break-in service done there, and they fixed a rattle from the speaker. I got my X5m50i serviced there as well. I bought that one from the BMW dealership on Lemmon Avenue. That dealership is awful.
