Hey everyone,

I’m having an issue with ID8 hotpsot and my iPhone 14 Pro Max auto-joining the hotspot. My phone’s wifi settings are set to auto-join the vehicle’s hotspot however, I have to manually select the vehicle’s hotspot on my phone everytime in order to get onto wifi. It will not auto-join unless manually told to do so.

The issue seems to be with my phone specifically because my Escort Redline 360c radar detector always joins the vehicle’s hotspot automatically on power up with no problem at all.

So far I have tried the following to resolve it:
-“Forget” the network and rejoined it
-Toggled “auto-join” OFF then ON again
-Reset the ID8 system

Anyone ever experience this before? Thanks for reading.

“Forget” the WiFi network on your phone and delete the device drom iDrive then re pair.

It must be for Car Play to work.

You don't need to join the car's wifi for wireless carplay to work. That's just handled on the backend when you set up CarPlay, it doesn't require you to manually join a wifi network on the phone.
