Saw this M440i on the way to work, today. The M440i Dravit, doesn't have the color change in it. I drove back and forth about 4 times, front to back, in direct sunlight, nothing like the M cars.

Ouch. The M440i buyer who is still paying something like $1500 upcharge for Dravit would be pretty hard done by if it has none of the gold flake like the G80/82.

That might be the color "grey black" which is identical to dravit, SANS the gold flake. Another M car here has that grey/black color from ST BMW and thats how I know of it.

It has the gold flake, it just doent have the lighter gray color change effect like Bahamuts car.

I first noticed the gold in the paint, before I took the video. The picture is a screenshot of a video I took. But unlike the M cars, the color doesnt have the light gray chamelion effect when you drive around it. Look at post #263. You can see the hint of Chameleon change in the paint. The top M440i, just looks gray with gold flake.

You can see when you walk around this color, the door changes to a light gray. I drove all around that M440i in the sun, and it didnt change color. Ive seen the color change in person. I posted a video if it, on post #198

a few years back I saw a Seven series on the lot and pulling up to it, it had a almost a nardo look with the gold flakes. I thought this was the baddest color I ever saw. Very time I see the color, it looks different. I am starting to think it looks different on each car I see.

Despite whatever anecdotal or circumstantial observations someone may have made, Dravit Grey is the same color whether it's on a ///M car or an ///M Performance car.

It looks fantastic. Doesn't it cost like 6-8k for a full stealth ppf? The dravit grey cost another 2k. Why not just get the car in frozen dark grey?

Well frozen gray is about 5k + the ppf. So in a way this is cheaper if you plan to protect the paint.

Agree.

IMHO this is the move even if you are set on the frozen paint - order the gloss paint and pay for stealth PPF. You get the protective benefits of PPF, less finicky washing/maintenance, easier repair in case of accident, etc etc. along with the look of a matte finish.

I want to see some up close photos of this car. I'm on wait list for FDG but this could be an option. I'm curious to see how the gold flake shines though the matte wrap.

I ordered DG with Fjord Blue. Coming in less than a month. It'll probably be the first with that combo in the history of mankind because I realized too late that it may be the wrong combo. But who knows, it might actually look OK the more I think about it (and try to convince myself lol). I will definitely post here when it gets delivered. Hopefully it will be to say that it actually looks good instead of "don't do this at home!"
