Imagine me on the rifle range over the years, lol. I still shoot expert during qualification.
Pistol still trips me up tho, since I fire with both eyes open during pistol qualification, so I usually flip flop between expert and sharpshooter.

No wonder I could never hit anything. I just tested and I'm left eye dominant but I think I used to close my left eye when we shot at targets with pellet guns as a kid. I don't shoot guns now. It's best to keep them away from me!!

Yes! If you were shooting from the right side shoulder/trigger finger, you most likely were aiming with your right eye. It's so difficult to break bad muscle memory habits!

That horizontal delineation is a result of the superimposed title. It’s a picture of a tree that has fallen over and the person is laying on their back on the fallen tree looking at the sky.

Always amazes me when I see that. You'd think a tree that big would have really deep roots. There's a tree down near the bike trail here that's like that, just not as big. But the whole root system came up just like the one in the picture.

The oldest timber frame home still standing in all of North America is the Fairbanks House in Dedham, Massachusetts. It was built in 1637 (obviously they don't make them like they used to!)

It has been owned through 8 generations of the same family and was turned into a museum and historical site a few years ago.

Fun fact: in all that time, the family never once took a mortgage out against its value.

This picture looks pretty ordinary, right? Except that it was staged and shot at the bottom of a pool.

We're all familiar with the photo of the iron workers having lunch high above NYC in the early '30s. It's an iconic photo, for sure.

Not so well known is this photo. This is Charles Ebbets. He is the photographer of that famous photo and he obviously has great faith in the cobbler that nailed the heels on his shoes.

The most difficult moments of my life were those spent with my Mom when she was going through this. It's a horrible disease.

Sorry about your mother. If you don’t mind me asking, how old was she when she started showing symptoms?

Probably early to mid 70's. She lived to 89. In her last couple of years she had no idea who I was. It ran strong in the female side of my family. My mother, her mother and cousin, and my sister, who was showing signs of it in her mid-60's before she passed away from other causes. The first sign with my mother and sister was repeating the same thing several times during a conversation. Or asking the same question multiple times.

It's a terrible disease, my father in law passed away from it. In the beginning it was just a bit challenging. He mostly knew what was going on and just needed a bit more help with somethings. Then he started wandering so he had to go into long term care. He lived in there about 18 months, the decline was fast and brutal. Start to finish about 7 years, he was 77 when he passed.
