I will never rock center locks again. EVER. I made that mistake on a 911 GTS. What a nightmare that was. Aftermarket wheels costs were 10-12K. Road trips where scary since no gas station in the middle of nowhere has the tools to remove them. Changing them at home required expensive tools. No thanks. Never again. No way in hell.

Look, yes, it's a flex but so is a $3k carbon intake that you don't see unless you open the hood. Titanium exhaust...flex. Engine bay dress up...flex. And on and on.
I'm not going to tell anyone how to spend their money dressing their car up. Just be aware of the drawbacks and don't pretend it's giving you any performance advantage. |

No matter what people think on the matter of usefulness or gains, can we all agree that you are only allowed to have CL's on your car if you have CCB's, unlike the M2 in the pictures? :

Bragging to who? The Civic drivers? With the minimum weight difference, I would think BMW owners and other people would be laughing at you. Not praising you. Lol. But hey, I spend almost 20 grand on wheels and PPF so do what you want I’m just glad they are not BBS wheels. If I never see another M car on BBS wheels, I will be a happy person.

Complexities of removing them aside, I really don’t like the design of the nut. Should have been traditional blue and white for the roundel, or even the ///M logo.

While most on this thread are wasting valuable time debating the pros and cons of center locks, I have booked my flight to Europe and completed the home equity loan paperwork. I told my wife I need a few days away to plan a big surprise for her, and I just need her to "initial here and here and sign here." Guess who is going to be the returning hero when she see these babies on her car and I explain the rotating mass improvement! Winning...

If the maintenance and time to change were the same that would be true. But when it takes 10x as long to remove and attach a CL than a 5 bolt, and the track required you to show proof of accurate torque every day, it is something I would actively avoid. 997 GT3 owners want the 5 lug conversion so bad. 991/992 GT3 just have greasy fingers and bad backs because of CL, and so far very few are buying the $5K tool. This is something motorsports can keep in it's current iteration. Not for the streets.

Oh…and imagine the customer complaints! BMW customers are no longer really interested in motorsport. Unless it improves the grocery retrieving experience it’s a waste.

Besides bragging rights, I really don't see why you wouldn't go for the much cheaper (and lighter than stock) 963M wheels?
I think they look absolutely amazing I got mine for 5k the set including Michelin 4S* tires These wheels alone are ~7.7lbs lighter than 826M stock wheels
