3D DESIGN sideskirts - Carbon Fiber

Realize I had made threads for the first 2 stages of my 3D DESIGN trim upgrades with stage 1 being the rear diffuser + splitters and stage 2 being the front lip + splitters. The final step was the CF sideskirts purchased from IND-Distribution. I also had to buy a rivet gun for the plastic rivets (more on this later). After doing the front lip and rear diffuser, I simply hated getting out of my car and looking down at cheap black plastic shadow line trim. So yeah by the end of it the bug had bit and I had to go all the way.

Pulling the stock skirts was not too bad; you have to use an “Awl” — it’s like a screwdriver with a straight tip end (like a pick) to pop out the stock rivets. Installing the new side skirts went well, just wish i had used a better rivet gun like the “ORXPLUS” for $60 on Amazon compared to the red handle cheap ones for $20-25. Maybe I could have got a better fit…

Everything snapped together well, but at times I feel like I notice the right sidekirt’s edge protruding 1 mm out. Maybe that’s exactly how the stock one looked too, so it’s hard to say. I do like how the shape of 3D Design skirts protrudes further outward for better presence and silhouette (compared to stock), but you just have to make sure you reach your foot out a tad further when getting out so you don’t put a smudge on it.

Overall everything 3D DESIGN is heinously expensive, but the quality for what you get is certainly top-notch. Also I didn’t want to worry about it yellowing or coming delaminated over time. The carbon fiber weave is beautiful with no egregiously placed seams. I am not doing any other mods (at least not anytime soon) and felt that going 3D Design on all 4 sides was a good, worry-free solution for me.
