M3 crashed

Yeap, saw these pics on local news like two days ago. It snowed a little that day and was unusually cold for this part of year (moreover, it seems like he was already on summer tires). And there is a nice 180 degrees corner. The driver probably tried to drift and didnīt make it. The car must have been brand new, they just started coming to the customers.

I think he lost control because they cut too much weight off the car

This isn't looking good for insurance rates!

That will buff right out AWD doesn't mean you can't spin and crash. I would be interested in knowing the HP on that GTR. I can deff break loose on R888's but have never had that type of traction loss. For me, 1000 Whp on my GTR is perfect. Almost no traction issues, it's been bullet proof ( knock on wood ) insanely fast with fast spool. I'm not adding anymore power. Also, there are tons of videos of GTR crashing. Car has been out for 12 years with tons running 7,8 second passes. So not really sure the point of the video but I enjoyed watching it.

This post was made as a joke. BUT, the seats could be in good shape and snatched up by someone

Yes, as wrong as it may be, it's just sooooo darn tempting when we see all of these G8x cars getting planted face first into trees with the rest of the car remaining intact (and without injury to the driver hopefully).

Kind of makes you wonder if these cars were praying for grille/facial reconstruction or something. "Hopefully now my owner will go out and get me one of those fancy new Hollywood IND grille makeovers"

They did knock it out of the park on driving dynamics though...

There's a phrase over here: "All the gear, no idea." The original post is a great example of that phrase in action.

I'm glad you liked it
But the point was about poor driving skills, not about the traction/grip

Both cars (GTR and G8X) have more than enough of it, and according to the latest track times, the new M3/4 is faster than the base GTR by quite a margin!

I learned that with the G80, you can configure the risk with the DSC/MDM setting. Keep it at 10-9 or 8 when the conditions are poor or the driver is novice. You can gently learn and open up to 6 to get some oversteer without counterlock need and below that, it's over power steer galore like you want. I would honestly print this in the mind of every new owner of this G80. It will be a blessing to avoid these "dumb" incidents that will reset your life savings in a split second! Never M offered such an effective guardian angel before, use it at the max!

Such a sad incident!

LOL, ummmmmmmm OK Maybe when they are sporting new turbos they will be beating 720's as well In 2 years when they are at stage 2, lets talk. I've had my F82 since 2015. It's been a fun car. On a long trip, I prefer it over my GTR. I hate no traction for 1st and 2nd gear. Now that being said, I'm waiting on the Z06 to come out. It's that or an RS6 for me.

I hope no one was hurt. The extensive front end damage is indicative of the usual set of circumstances: empty urban street, desire to see "what this M thing can do", loss of control - all leading to a predictable outcome.

Completely avoidable yet repeated over and over again.

I was wondering too. Wishing it was SSII. It looks to be some kind of white or grey. Can you order one in SSII if you want? Money be damned.

Man if I had a dollar for every wrecked E30/36/46/90 and F80 where people made that same unoriginal joke about it fixing the grille...wait.

I skipped the seats for that exact reason.

Had they offered them on the E92 10 years ago, maybe, but I was single and 20 pounds lighter...

In a hand of an inexperienced driver M cars can be a very dangerous weapon, these cars basically have more hp than most of real world multimillion dollar race cars and can be bought by anyone who can afford a 1-1.5 k monthly lease.

At the end, you can't beat the physics- it doesn't matter what do you drive
