BMW was, for many years, the industry trend-setter. But now all that buzz has shifted to Tesla. They have a dedicated cult following along with the admiration of casual observers due to their stock.

I’m sure Elon’s personality and the coolness factor of SpaceX doesn’t hurt either even if the cars themselves are enough to drive interest as being the cars that cracked the BEV hurdles.

I don't doubt the performance prowess of the G80 & G82 and the potential patronage from those beholders who deem beauty in G80 & G82. I just won't be one of those beholders

And knowing that some are being shown the cars IRL before the rest of us have a chance of even seeing pictures sure doesn’t help with that...

But I'll tell you - I've been waiting to change my E90 for some time now. I was hoping and praying the G80 would be the one. I put my money where my mouth is and did not buy an F80. It just wasn't for me styling wise nor dynamically. With regards to the G80, with the crazy hype, the unorthodox design changes (actually the lexus like backend has me questioning things vs. the front end) and unknown driving characteristics (have they changed fundamentals like steering feel and exhaust note?), I'm really "blah" about all of this.... The more I think about it a second hand 911 seems to meet my needs more and more despite its passenger occupancy flaws.... |

totally that. I think I have the camo swirls permanently etched on the back of my retinas over the past several months!

I'm just excited to debate the grill for the 100th time and end the speculation on what its going to look like. time to vote with your wallets boys and girls. I'm open to being convinced otherwise but guessing my wallet doesn't come out for this gen.

Yeah that’s a strange move, freely show some people and yet keep in it secret for the masses.

There is almost nothing they can show me at a reveal that will help my decision whether to purchase this car...
and, no, it's not the grills. I just need to know that the car will still provide driver engagement. I'm repeatedly told the new transmission is "better than a DCT" ... for me that means that it should have closed the gap on a Porsche PDK. I will not know that until I drive one (hard). ...or Chris Harris reviews one with an auto box. |

This'll be interesting. Anticipated meltdowns, switching brand(s) talk/declarations as well as those whose minds'll change.
Looks to be an exciting car, the G80. |
