The time of the day when you decide to drive it makes a difference. The last time we went up (I only live an hour away), we were stuck behind someone driving an old Pontiac doing the speed limit. Still a beautiful drive though!

Beautiful car, but isn’t this the road with the 30 MPH limit? If so, I can’t imagine how that would be engaging in the least.

It does have a 30 mph speed limit. But, just like most places in TN, the speed limit is a mere suggestion! It all depends on when you decide to drive it. Based on the continuous on call emergency response team from Maryville, there’s plenty of folks that drive it too fast and end up wrecking their cars and motorcycles.

Yea awesome car. Awesome road. Haters gonna hate but whatever who cares. Only reason for negative comments is they are jealous.
Funniest thing about all this is that 20-30 years from now people will say OMG that was such cool car. |

Contact Smoky Mountain Drives on Facebook. They can tell you all of the roads worth driving, how to endd up back where you started, and even where and when to get gas. The best thing about an organized event was the "guided" tour of the area. We drove 200-250 miles per day and there's zero cell service up there so having the radios and a lead car to follow made it that much better.

They organize drives all the time, they're a pretty cool group of guys. Another group is "Car Hikers" they run events all the time up there as well.
