It's worth putting out there. As precarious as the world is right now interest could flip in a hurry.

Nah, but both will depreciate at the same rate just sitting on the couch. M4 CSL might too, but from what I can tell so far, smart money says no.

It's illegal plane and simple. Protects consumers from crying for days and weeks on forums about being ****** without lube by there dealers.

I'll be getting the M4 CSL and while I wish it was a GTS package for the track, it is what is is. Also on an trivial note: I own a 1995 LTW which internally (with BMW) was coded as a CSL but marketed to consumers as a LTW.

I know right? It’s ridiculously cheap for what it is.
It’ll be $200K on resale like next year. Even if you can’t drive it it makes sense to buy it as an investment.

This is also my reasonning for grabbing one and the fact just enjoying this kind of machine on track days will be pure bliss. I think the CSL will follow what happened with the M2CS and M5CS, I was the first to put down the M2CS as way too pricey for marginal additions but at the final it was one of the most enjoyable car you could drive and on top of that it was limited AND didnt run the N-Ring that fast.. Now used ones are selling for over MSRP. Everyone compares the CSL to the GTS but its just not the same car, at all. If its a great drivers car its value will go up and when I read the documentation my dealer sent me, I have a hard time thinking it won't be the case, the guys at M spent a shit ton of time thinkering and oning that thing !

yeah, the reason it isn't a "new gts" is because BMW learned their lesson with that one and did it right this time.

Im confused with all the GT3 references tbh (other than to compare on price) and those who are disappointed that a slightly tweaked front engined quick family coupe isnt as competitive as a rear engined, 2 seater track car around a track?!
The CSL is damn quick enough for a mid sized formerly family coupe. Jeeeeez |

Click this link and you will see 7:20 is not slow, the M4CSL is nothing to be ashamed of. https://www.stuttcars.com/porsche-nu...ck%20in%202015. The 992 GT3 just raised the bar disproportionately at 6:52 and the 300k+ purchase price reflects it. The new GT3 is not in the same league as anything BMW has to offer. I would focus on the fact that for 140k and with a front engine rear drive platform it will outrun a 488 and pretty much all purchasable 911's more than 2 years old....that's pretty fkn cool. Not to mention it is more unique than a GT3 which are almost like a dime a dozen even at inflated prices and I think it looks awesome. my order is white with no red stripes and a July production. ;-) Maybe I am biased. This new CSL is not, it is said to have a different aim and be positioned as a better street car than the GT3. I suspect it is and it is a very fast car. But the fact remain, as a new CSL comparing it with the GT3 is fair game based on history. It doesn’t mean it’s a failure. I like the car and think it’s going to be very well received by those who get to drive it. |

Yes, I agree but the 992 GT3 has moved to another level vs literally everything else that exists.

I guess they revised the strategy and decided to tone down the CSL.

I wanted to say that whoever is getting the car at MSRP is lucky and has a good deal. I asked around a LOT of dealer here in the Northeast and a couple whom I've done business with and everyone wants ADM. The ADM ranges from $20k to $50k.
